Glam Inclusive Article 2024
Under the caption of picture one would think the article would be about inclusive fashion for all genders. Instead being for all genders the article outlines inclusive fashion for females only.
https://www.glam.com/1426040/feminine-m ... ion-trend/
It is time for Glam produce articles for fashion for all genders. Since the article reflect only about females accepting clothing deemed for males only and not including males crossing gender lines for their clothing, reflects stereotyping against males right to inclusive clothing. Until magazines like Glam start producing articles toward males as well females about inclusive fashion in making a balance article of true inclusive fashion. This article represent how Glam feels how inclusive fashion meant for females only. It doesn't matter who their employees are as long they produce articles about inclusive fashion for females only. These magazines that produce articles for only males or female fashion needs to change to balance articles for inclusive fashion for all, not just one gender. Until that happens represent how males not being accepted in inclusive fashion. It has to be a two-way street. These mags operates one one-way street.
Magazines like Glam needs to adopt males in part about inclusive fashion and how females should adapt in accepting males right to wear inclusive fashion. This is what is missing in these mags articles. These articles are unfair to males. This represent how the industry's failed to accept males full right to inclusive fashion. These articles is just to limited to one gender. It would be great like if such a mag Glam talks about looking great with a male wearing skirts or dresses in a stylish fashion. This is a major flaw shows how we males are being deliberately left out about inclusive fashion.
Magazines like Glam should read articles about meaning of men wearing female fashion.

If they start reading such articles maybe they will produce article that reflect males as partners with females, with both wearing inclusive fashion. It is time for such articles today and should have been done yesterday.

Mr S,,
Unless you actually wish to rule out free speech, there is only one action open to us.
Ignore, boycott and above all, do not promulgate their message for them.
I'd never even heard of them until I saw this thread, well done, you increased their click rate by one.
All I took from it was, rules, in fashion, there is only one.
The one which I will choose for myself.
It really is that simple.
Steve.

Not to pile in on mr seamstress, but the GLAM magazine
I had never even heard of Glam, or noodles, which covers a much wider remit, which MIS would be covered by https://noodls.com/about-us/ so thank you mr seamstress for opening more of the world to us. You are of course right that one day there will be magazines covering humans discussing the merits of different styles across a range of human body types.
To be fair though, the "about" page is gender neutral https://www.glam.com/about/ and looks promising. The lead editor of Glam's news and features departments is a guy who wears makeup in his picture https://www.glam.com/author/prestonsmith/ but sadly it is just another women's style magazine that we can always get ideas from, but unlikely to get a gender balanced view of things from.Mission Statement
Our mission is to inform and inspire our audience by tapping into women's lifestyle topics from multiple perspectives. We strive to curate a well-rounded experience for every reader whether they're here for fashion advice or wellness tips.

Re: Glam Inclusive Article 2024
Reading more of Noodles I tried searching terms with "men" and "skirts". Nothing comes up. Just using "skirt" you get a number of articles, some of which are on other selling websites. the "How to store skirts" and "How to make grass skirts" take you here:
https://storables.com/articles/how-to-store-skirts/
https://storables.com/gardening-and-out ... ass-skirt/
There is an article all about "white short skirts" but it talks about her wardrobe.
https://noodls.com/lifestyle/the-surpri ... ort-skirt/
However these two were gender neutral as far as I could see, so progress?
https://noodls.com/lifestyle/the-surpri ... -revealed/
https://noodls.com/lifestyle/rock-your- ... nim-skirt/
There were also quite a few articles about "bed skirts", which apparently is a thing. You will have to find your own links to these.......

Yes Mouse, a 'bed skirt' does exist

"Wrap Around Dust Ruffle Bed Skirt" (Amazon.com)

I think this term is mainly used in the U. S.
You might call it something different, where you live.

Re: Glam Inclusive Article 2024
To be honest I didn't bothered in reading mission statement. I look at its work and how it wasn't as diversify as what that is written under the caption of picture that was displayed. As you said it was only fashion tips for her. What made it worse was the fact the lack of not having male in the background with the male wearing inclusive clothing. With this the article could have stated how her choice would work with a male wearing a denim dress or skirt if she was going out with a partner.Mouse wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 6:15 pmYou are of course right that one day there will be magazines covering humans discussing the merits of different styles across a range of human body types.Mission Statement

What I was trying to put up for discussing is a company can have employees that is diversify, but their products come short reflecting their diversity. Since this was a business that give advice on fashion, how are other business would advertise their fashion products to general public? They was helping in selling male denim pants to women, but not selling denim skirts or denim dresses to men. This fashion advise market needs to start selling fashion with male wearing inclusive clothing with female wearing inclusive clothing as a couple not just single. Until that happens there is going to a lack from retailers displaying males in skirts and dresses.

Where I live a "valance' is at the top of draperies on windows.
Different locations, different meanings.

In today society there are couples who are into inclusion fashion.

It is just the matter in getting all these fashion advise industry into adopting to that trend. This society is changing but slowly against the male in wearing inclusive clothing. There are websites that show there are women who are trying to get their man into inclusive fashion and laying the ground into accouraging other women to follow.

Then there are websites where mothers are getting there sons into inclusive fashion so they won't be so aggressive and be more caring into female issues. It is matter in getting all fashion advice industry to recognize all these changes are happening today.

Something may have been communicated wrongly, but your second link and quote above have very little to do with free and inclusive fashion.
They actually operate on the basis of female domination and enforced feminisation of men.
Indeed, there is a whole fetish genre based on the idea that men wish to be forced to wear female clothes and be treated accordingly.
The other side of this, "petticoat discipline", is that boyish behaviours and misdemeanours can be eradicated by making the miscreant dress and behave like a "good" little girl.
Gender Blender, in your first link was a member of skirt cafe a few years ago too.
Nice try.

And the irony that the “Women’s leather jacket” was in fact a biker jacket, originally “men only” seems to be lost on the writer!

Which was a variant of the "bomber jacket" worn by bomber aircrews at high altitudes (where it's bloomin' COLD) which allowed movement in the confines of an aircraft. Also see the "Ike Jacket" which is a darned good looking style, and I should have my grandfather's GI one recreated in my size (which would cost a small fortune as it was all wool and silk!).greenboots wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 8:51 amAnd the irony that the “Women’s leather jacket” was in fact a biker jacket, originally “men only” seems to be lost on the writer!
There really is very little truly "new" in fashion -- much less style.

IMHO, this proves the old adage: What's old, is new, again
