Jolygearr hiking sun dress

Post by SkirtedWalker »

Jollygearr will release its new Triple Crown Button Down Sun Dress on 11/01/2023. Have seen several women wearing prototypes, and it looks like this is well designed for hiking, backpacking, and daily wear. Has two zipper pockets, an elastic drawstring, and a snap button to convert the dress into a romper. Looking forward to trying this one. Check Jollygearr on Instagram, and look down a few rows for the dress. The images include both men and women wearing it.

Took a look at their Instagram page and gave them a like/follow. Couldn’t see any men modeling the dress. Don’t think it would work for me, but it will be interesting to see what future designs look like. Think I prefer the idea of the purple rain skirt or even a sport skort over a hiking dress.

I don't have an instagram account and not opening one so I can't see this dress.
While I still believe that specialist hiking skirts and dresses are pointless, I can see potential wider benefits.
Hikers and walkers the world over are a mixed bunch, diverse.
It may be that showcasing men in skirts and dresses on the trail may lead to wider acceptance on the street.
Outdoor fashions are common in the towns and cities, so why not this?

Is this what the hiking sun dress is ? ? ?
Doesn't resemble a dress
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Agree. I continue to think the Purple Rain dress is my favorite, followed closely by the Purple Rain skirt. I can wear whatever shirt I want over these.

I really like the features of the Jolygearr hiking sun dress, but it is single garment attire. Will get one and see how I like it.

That is a shirt. The hiking dress will be on the website Nov 1. There are two image sets on Instagram. One clearly shows the woman wearing the new dress. The other image set is: https://www.instagram.com/p/CywGJFtuYCV/ This image set has the male owner wearing it. These same hiking dress images are on Jollygearr’s Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... 227&type=3

Hi SW
That looks pretty much like a standard shirt dress to me but obviously the fabric makes a difference.
It would look fine on the street and ok for summer hiking but that also applies to pretty much any lightweight garment.
I never looked at prices but that's irrelevant to me in any case.
Sum up, yes I'd give it a go if I saw it in a shop.

I have 1 Lightheart gear hiking dress with pockets, and 2 of her tunics, as part of a Bata testing. I like them all. They are great for hiking and backpacking. They have the same great cargo pockets as the hiking skirts, and with being a "dress" there is no bulk for the hip belt to rest on. A little over w week ago I had back surgery and was told to wear loose comfortable clothes. I wore one of the tunics and it was perfect. I may start wearing them a lot more next spring/summer for the comfort a breathability.
