Re: my skirt!!
Your phone should have pixel settings for the camera. If you can find those, change for the smallest setting. It may say for email.

if i could email you the pic and you could put it up?
Re: my skirt!!
I use (and recommend) a free programme called "Irfanview" which has a very simple resize option. Give it a whirl and all should be rosy in the garden againjorgovan45 wrote:if i could email you the pic and you could put it up?

Have fun,

Re: my skirt!!
The skirt looks good! Are you happy with it?
You could look for the Crop function on your photo app if you wanted a photo of just the skirt itself. That would let you highlight just the portion of the photo you wanted and remove the rest. It will be hard to just remove the phone from the picture. If you want a full body shot, the best option would be to have someone else take the picture, or you could prop up the camera and use the timer function.

Re: my skirt!!
We'd need a full-body shot to properly cut/crop portions from. These are easiest had by using a camera with a tripod mount (or sitting on a fixed object -- I tend to use either my outdoor grill or the equally handy wellhead) and tripped with a remote release. Second easiest, although potentially "better", would to have someone else release the shutter for you. The difference with the second option is that you might not get to call the camera-angle as most folks tend to shoot from eye-height. Note that shots like this are easiest outdoors, and you need a reasonably neutral background.jorgovan45 wrote:Glad you like my skirt! I have a pic of just the skirt. One can always remove things from a photograph. Adding information to a photograph is neigh well impossible unless it's "background noise".

I was talking about the first pic I took in the mirror, not the second one...you can see the skirt right?

Re: my skirt!!
Yes, the skirt is visible, but there's not enough of it visible to show where the hem falls (an important part of any skirt) nor really enough visual information to indicate how it fits -- much less enough "real estate" to crop/recompose the original.jorgovan45 wrote:I was talking about the first pic I took in the mirror, not the second one...you can see the skirt right?
I'm not trying to be hard-nosed here; when dealing in situations where one knows that post-processing is going to be required, one needs to shoot more of the surroundings than one would shoot naturally. Photographic recomposition can take many forms, and most of those require contextual (visual) information be present. Shoot wide if post-processing is going to be happening. This is one of the few cases where "more is more" (really; it gives latitude to whomever is going to be post-processing the shot).
Brutally put, a selfie in the mirror is a selfie in the mirror; a selfie shot with a remote-release and a timer at a (reasonable) distance can be turned into something remarkable. Recall that a mirror-shot imposes a hard border that cannot be easily "airbrushed out".
On basic composition, frame the shot you want according to what you want to show off. In other words, shooting from eye-height may not convey the image you desire. Full-length shots seem to be best done using waist-level viewfinders which means that the photographer may well be shooting "arms-down"-level (I've done a lot with those). Frame the original shot lovingly; sometimes that means altering a viewpoint. Much of what I shoot is done from a kneeling position if I'm using an eye-level finder; if I'm using a waist-level finder, things get easier save that one needs to recall that the image in said finder will be a mirror of what one is shooting).
Cell' 'phone cameras need not apply as cameras at all as they're virtually useless for any serious work.

Umm? I wanted to take the mirror and phone OUT of the first pic, not add stuff to it...
