I have to say it was extremely exhilirating to wear a dress, and it was great fun as well!

Must say - that does look goooooood! I don't wear dresses (just skirts) but that outfit is certainly worth considering!

Thanks for the kind words, everybody. Much appreciated. It was most refreshing that I had been able to come and go as I pleased with little to no reaction from people around me, however, I did have one lady say to me, "Nice dress".

renesm1: The boots came from Maryland Square and are called Elites by Walking Cradles. I've always wanted a nice pair of women's riding boots, but had trouble finding them in my size (13 wide). They are nice and comfortable.

Finding boots in the large sizes is a real challenge and even more so to find quality constructed boots.
Needless to write about going back to the old country for custom made boots paying a king's ransom
is not in the cards (budget) !
The women's shoe/boot sizing pretty much ends at USA W11 in B or M width.
Getting 12s or 13s in wide can be done but one must have his foot in the door
first thing when the shoes/boots are introduced for sale. There are women who
wear these large sizes to compete with.
Payless shoes in the USA is a good source but you have to be there at the door
when the season starts and the delivery trucks start arriving. Suggested to have
a working customer relationship with the store manager/owner for getting what
you want.
Famous Footwear is not so great on anything over 12.
Same for DSW (Discount Shoe Warehouse).
There are other area and local stores - you just have to get out the walking shoes
boots * also the fingers on the key board Google etc. to find where they are at and
what they can do for you.

Finding anything above size 11 or 12 in brick and mortar stores is practically impossible, and the selection at Payless can be dicey at times, and heaven knows I do more than my fair share of looking. That makes online shopping all the more important.

earlier i posted a picture of me in a gray dress and opaque tights. since them, i ventured out in a pink camo mini and opaque tights. that was pretty freestyle. it got me my first compliment though. but i do not think i should wear that out anymore. but who knows....

I've never found anything larger than a size 11 1/2 in a brick and mortar store. The 11 1/2 will fit my foot, but it it's awfully tight. I couldn't imagine walking on it all day.

If you like it, you should wear it! Don't let society intimidate you. Once it warms up a little, I plan to get a few of my er..uh... "flashy" dresses a little air time!

Well, as a matched pair we wandered through three stores in the mall, no one called the cops, no black helicopters flew over and only three or four ladies looked more than once. I want something a wee bit longer, however....mid-thigh or an inch or so above the knees. Didn't notice it was quite so high until I got home and took the photo. When sitting it seems to come somewhere between the knees and mid-thigh. Might even go out in it again so long as milady provides the escort. Been wearing leggings or fleece-lined leggings with my skirts and even my kilts with the temp at or below freezing.

I would definitely say that a jumper dress or sweater dress should be an essential part of anyone's wardrobe. You've got the look nailed. Nice. I tend to wear mine with leggings and flat shoes, maybe even a pair of purple and black velvet converse high tops to add a splash of colour.

I've chosen one of more daring outfits that I wore to work in a charity shop. I love charity shops as there's so much choice of fashion to choose from that spans so many decades. It's probably fair to say that nearly all my clothes come from there these days, including the outfit I'm wearing. The only part that not was the shoes that I got on ebay. They were made in Portugal and are lovely to walk in.
