Converting the masses and promoting understanding.
Well I've been thinking (at this point my wife would teasingly say "Did it hurt?"). Anyway I what are the things we as advocates of mens unbifurcated garments are doing to further the concept other than wearing kilts, skirts, and sarongs? I'm sure we all talk about it every chance we get to have an intelligent conversation on the subject. One of the things that I have done is to carry business cards from the vendors I generally buy from and leave them with my tip when we go out to eat. This has led me to consider having some type of M.U.G. business card that gives a few reasons why men should or could wear them. T-shirts, bumper stickers, coffee cups might be other ways to get the message out there.
Perhaps you have some ideas of your own, please respond and share them. I hope this will generate a good conversation among we here at the Cafe' and lead to some concrete action.
So how about it?

new to the forum and skirts however I do believe you are on to something there. not sure yet how to upload pictures but my wife has taken several photos of me involved in various activities around our home wearing my skirts things like working on my bike, doing construction on the house, hanging out at the lake, and so forth she has been asked by some of her friends to make them into a calendar. perhaps that too would be an idea to help promotion.

Well, obviously one's own skirted garment is the best conversation starter of all. The second best way to have a conversation is to start one, based on people's reactions to what you are wearing and your comfort level with it.

Indeed one's own skirted rig is the best conversation-starter going -- and the least "threatening" one possible as it gives the onlooker the opportunity to, on his terms start it rather than possibly having it pushed on him. So, by all means, leading by example is by far and away the best avenue for evangelizing the notion.

Thanks for the responses so far.
I do absolutely agree that the best way is wearing your "open garment" and thus eliciting conversation and letting the other person be the initiator. But what I was thinking of was the times that circumstances prevent that exchange say a busy resturant. That's the time when a tool like a business card or pamphlet might be useful. Just something to get them thinking and go investigating site like Skirt Cafe' and talking to you next time they see you.
Finally I think as do others it is deportment, deportment, deportment, that will go farther than anything else we may do to further the cause. I believe also that we must also do a certain amout of "marketing" to move the general population toward acceptance of an M.U.G. for men.
I'm not sure that I have been choherent enough here but I feel that a certain amount of aggressivesness is called for to get the concept out there to the folks.
If this seems rambling I sincerly apologize and hope that sense may be made of the muddle.
