Over the years, use of colour in men's wardrobes has waxed and waned; this has varied from what might be viewed as extravagant excesses in the Renaissance to the very drab male uniform of today where pretty much the only place where vibrant colour is allowed is neckties. I find this sad, because colour is a wonderful way to communicate in a non-verbal manner -- what you wear, and when you wea it, can actually say something about your state of mind and how one is feeling. I believe that the customary old school color for boys was PINK (derivative of RED) and that baby blue was for the fair sex.
