Not sure if genuinely sold out or some publicity stunt, but according to this website, a heavily discounted Thom Browne Men's skirt suit has now sold out.

As usual the naysayers are out again trying to stop any man who dares think for themselves sartorially-wise on this website...

...although I have to admit, if I had $1200 to spend on an outfit, I'd be more likely to spend it on a vacation for my family.

I hope that regardless of the critics, mainstream clothing vendors take note of this and start selling mainstream male-friendly skirts.

What I take from this is that I feel that we are finally getting somewhere. I see too many different designers producing men's skirts to write it off as this year's passing fad (but then again, I'm biased.)

WHOA ! With a price like that...... I do agree that when you see a clothier offering a mans skirtsuit with that kind of pricetag. The wealthy are going to buy and wear. A definate positive for skirt wearing in general.

ok

i wear skirts to work everyday, and i wouldn't wear THAT item on a bet!

my next remarks my be construed as inflammatory by some. please do NOT take this as an insult to any group or individual:

for male skirts to be accepted both by men and women, they cannot come across as homosexual!
that will shoot the possibility in the foot faster than ANYTHING else could, and nobody will be wearing them.
the model and suit/shoes in that photo fairly screams: I'M WEARING THIS BECAUSE MY BOYFRIEND MAKES ME
this simply will not attract anybody, and i don't believe we will ever see that suit on any city street / party / office
men will say "no, thank you" and their women (or boyfriends, as i don't think it will make any difference) will say "DON'T YOU ******* THINK ABOUT IT!"

this is the antithesis of what we need, which is a comfortable and casual-looking rig that guys can wear while lounging about. that will gain popular interest.

plus, he looks completely MISERABLE (as most models do these days)

I am still trying to figure out the shoes and why the top portion does not mesh with the skirt that would be fine by itself. Part of what keeps stopping my mental function is how the Thom Browne Mens Skirt Suit comes across so awkwardly in the promotional photo. Usually I am good at finding something to like but between the model's discomfort and the getup itself I am stumped.

Please, gentlemen of the cafe, go out in the world and be seen in your own skirts! Don't let that photo be someone's first impression of men in skirts!

I am not usually one to be so judgemental about clothing choices -- but this outfit makes my eyes bleed. The shoes... good heavens, the shoes are like giant white flippers! And the unbalanced look of the square suit-jacket on the top half of the guy, and the narrow, shapeless, confining skirt below... no wonder the poor fellow looks nonplussed. Geh.

Cheers,

Inertia

Hax, looking at the date of the post you're responding to is somewhat useful too. That sale is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over. Like July of last year or 8 months ago..I do understand tho, you see something that interests you and you respond without dating it. :alien:

How do I get a really cool costume from one of the online stores without being associated with a studio? I am wanting to buy a dance costume online but all of the cool ones you have to have a studio number to even get on the site. Does anyone know how to get around this?

I'm sure there are "costume" stores all over the web. This site is more involved in skirts/dresses/kilts for men, not costumes. We don't wear what we wear as a joke or costume. It's a life choice to be permanently out of the trousers rut for good. :D :D
