A new skirt

Post by Uncle Al »

Hey all, I've just shopped at a place called 'Skirts and Dresses for
$6.88 or less, and found a marvelous light brown/tan linen A-line
skirt. Good Fit! The were also having a 'side-walk-sale' and I found
what is called 'A Dress In A Bag'. Blue, Rayon, 3/4 sleeves size 3X
and it's almost ankle length. $4.88 + tax. So, for 1 dress ( to be
used as a night shirt ), 1 skirt, and 2 Scrubbs tops for my wife,
$27 and change. Some of the 'items' were labled QVC originals.
QVC is one of the Home Shopping Networks. The skirt I bought was
a Merona, which is a lable for Target. At a 'regular-retail' store, the
skirt alone would have run $25-$30.00---Hey this is cheaper than
Wal-Mart!

If I can ever get used to using a digital camera, I might get
a pic posted. Granted, it is 27 inches long, and I prefer 24 inches,
it will be easy to alter. There is a piece of material sewen at the
exact point which hits square on the knee. I'll just have to
'remove' that portion of material and put a new hem on the bottom.
Should be 'Sew-Easy' right? Finding the time and patience to do
this 'alteration' is the REAL pain in the chair!

I'ld like to post a pic, but don't know how using this software.

That sounds really great, and FUN 8) :D
Sometimes the fun aspect of skirting is somewhat forgotten, but is / can be part of the "fun" of wearing skirts. Who would even think of looking at other pants, if he was wearing pants? What? More pants? :(
But skirt wearers can enjoy not only finding bargains, ( and how do men generally think about women that are contsantly shopping, for new clothes? :P   ) Now there are some, skirt wearing men who besides wearing a skirt, or two, or.... are understanding what women also have, enjoyment in what they are wearing. And for me, wanting to waer something different every day.

Good for you that you found something nice, and for a reasonable price, for a change. :) :D :) :D
Ask a neighbour or good friend, to help you out with the digi camera, and getting the pics online.

Skirt wearing is not only a cover up, it's enjoying life.
A man is the same man in a pair of pants or a skirt. It is only the way people look at him that makes the difference.

That is really great to find a good skirt at a good price. Now for me it is getting harder forme to find a new skirt at any price, when I look over all the really good non girly skirts that I have from the thrift stores then any other skirt in the store is like I already have or not my style. As for that style of mine, dark heavy material, zipper not too short flap on the left same as boys pants, hem down to the top of the kneecap and no girly split halfway up. There a few exeptions like the beige skirt with the hem two inches above the knee but that material is twice as thick as bluejean. Also a dark denim ankle length that still had the orignal tag. Some of my earlier skirts have the split sewn up and the hem raised. As aquired the hem was three or four inches low so I just did my own alterations. Then I still have a yard of heavy upolstery fabric to make my own skirt. My reason for that is that I have some aquaintces that will need to know that a skirt that I wear in front of them was designed taylored made for the male only and absoutly. That list I forgot to list large pockets, too many girly skirts have small to no pockets. Then some of my earlier skirt aqusitions have shallow pockets but that does not show. Next I would like to see skirts become more popular but I do not know why. My thought was if there were a few skirt dudes out there then I could wear a skirt. Only I could not wait so one day when I was going to a freeky neighborhood I knew that it wood be safe to wear a skirt but on the way back home I visited some stores in the normal part of town and had no problems. Well today at the mall I could tell that a lot of people were noticeing my skirt but as far as I could tell it was the look of admiration or even envy. In my earlier years I would really look at oher kids with braces and that bothered them but that was the look of envy. When I could afford it I went to an orthodontist and when he said next visit we will start taking them off, because the program was paid in full I missed that next visit for about six years. Anyway my thing about skirts is more for looks than for comfort. The split and the pleats to me look girly so I go for the plain skirt that makes me watch my step. Well actually this is supposed to be about a new skirt. So my next new skirt will be in exelent condition from the thrift store and be a little diferent from the ones that I already have.
