"Man" Bags?

This is what I use everyday. It is perfect for holding an iPad and my notebook as well as all my crap that I like to have but would otherwise not carry in my pocket, Like a leatherman multi-tool, all my cords for my devices, chapstick, keys, wallet, phone, small camera, business cards, pens pencils, etc.

When guys at the shop ask me "hey is that a man purse" I generally reply "nope its just a normal everyday purse" that stops them in their tracks.

I still have some aversion to this "man" thing.
However, my own idea, would be pouches carried in the form of "shoulder holsters". Absolutely no idea how practical, comfortable or aesthetic it would be but if I could figure a design, I'd give it a try.
The simple plus would be that I'd be able to choose jackets to go with my skirts without having to consider them having ample pockets.
The main problem is that pockets=outdoors and that only goes so far.

There is no need for a gangstalicious man bag. Waistcoats, vests and hoodies in addition to a backpack do the trick for me.

My 'Man bag' is fifteen foot long, dark blue, has five doors, 187 old nags and a bomb sight on the bonnet front. When the brushes of an auto-wash plucked said bombsight clean off a while ago, I drove away and didn't notice immediately until I approached the next roundabout....I damn nearly missed it altogether and had to get a new ringed tristar bombsight straight away.

My point is, I leave everything in it except a few essentials which easily fit in my slash pockets, which I like to have in my skirts, too.

Although I always use back-packs (I think we used to call them Rucksacks), I avoid putting a wallet there -- too easy to pinch. No problem on a cycle, for example, but if you stop to look at something or chat with someone in a crowd, it's so easy for the pickpockets to find the wallet, or bank card or passport.
I speak from experience! First time, I did not feel a thing, but some money disappeared. Last time, I had a feeling something was going on, and ran for a man walking away. When he realized I was behind him, he threw down my wallet as a way of stopping me. 30 € missing, but bank and ID cards still intact.
In summer, when I wear few clothes, I just refrain from taking anything important with me. Once the weather is cooler, I choose a waistcoat, jacket or skirt with a pocket. I certainly don't take a ton of steel with me to carry things.

I have one of their bags (a small size) and it is superb for those occasions when i need to carry a fair bit of stuff or for a longer walk. It was fairly expensive but worth every penny.

Zippered or not put a nice fat wallet where the outline can be defined and sharp razor will make entrance to a new zippered compartment in the future !
If the rucksack is brand new in blazing black rip-stop nylon you can be sure it will be a target.
Wear some brindle sh1t camouflage that has been once too often in the mud and voila you become a non entity for theft - I wouldn't want to get my
hands or razor knife dirty !

Thanks! I never have kept my wallet in my backpack but if I ever do, I'll be sure to bury it deep inside.

Another possibility might be one of those travel wallets that hang from the neck, inside your shirt.

When I went on a trip for summer vacation, I got a nice carryon bag -- soft leather with lots of pockets and a shoulder strap. It's too bulky and awkward to ever be mistaken for a purse. I found that it was so convenient carrying everything in it -- wallet, passport, sunglasses, keys, yo-yo (hey, I'm a weird person beyond my clothing choices), sunblock, phone, sinus medicine, etc. etc. etc. that I ended up continuing to use it when we got home. Now I never have to go frantically hunting for keys and wallet; they're always in my bag.

I rarely take it inside places I go, just so I won't forget it. I just grab my wallet or whatever else I need out of the bag, stuff it into my pockets, and leave the bag in the car. Then when I get back to the car it all goes back in the bag.

I swore I would never carry a bag, but found a selection from Overland Equipment that I liked and suited my style sense. Now I have three, lol. When one is dependent on skirts made for women, I suppose it is inevitable that one eventually gets a bag. Would that women discovered the joy of pockets! I am, however, coming to understand why my wife has so much needless stuff in her purse. The temptation to take along more than essentials is hard to conquer when you have extra space!

My dear wife bought this bag for me for Christmas. It is a cross body bag with a woven strap, a nice cell phone pocket, and it expands--by zippers-- to accommodate whatever. I will use it for camera, bino's, lunch, etc when on the trail. It also has a side opening compartment on the back that is just right for a compact .45.
