Weather in your location ?
Re: Weather in your location ?
Divided over two seasons, namely a white and a green season.
In other words, winter and summer.
Typical Norwegian weather
Right now in the Netherlands: light freeze this morning, but it will be a somewhat chilly dry day with some sunshine

Re: Weather in your location ?
Last Monday we had 11°c, sun and no wind - t-shirt weather and I took down five small trees(still have another 8 that needs to come down) and washed the car.
Today I woke up to this: Just as all of the last snow had melted away. I doubt it will stick longer than the weekend so I'm not making any effort to clear it away, Ill just flatten as needed with the car, still got my winter tires on ofc, I usually keep them until May 1st.

Seb, There's been no snow this winter here. The bottom of my garden has been under water all winter.Seb wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 7:44 am Last Monday we had 11°c, sun and no wind - t-shirt weather and I took down five small trees(still have another 8 that needs to come down) and washed the car.

Definitely need the mini Anthony. Heatwave is not getting this far north. Unseasonly under 40 here. We are travelling south to Melbourne later next week.

Wow! With those temperatures, I would wear nothing but a big straw hat any place I could get away with it.

I am in full agreement there Jim. With temps that high clothing would only make it worse...

I'm amused by Ozdelight's comment 'Unseasonably below 40Deg C' The only time in my life I experienced temps over 40 deg. was one September in Seville, Spain. Not pleasant.
Here we've nothing 'unseasonable' just now. Early Winter temps in single figures mostly, 11deg. forecast for Sunday next. Little or no frost, little or no wind, little or no Sun either. Just December gloom. No wonder in the Northern hemisphere the Christians decided to liven up pagan Saturnalia by plonking Christmas on top of it. Then in the greater scheme of things, a little later on they invented electric light! A great way to banish the gloom.

Re: Weather in your location ?
Nope. I'm a bit of a weather geek and METARs are the way I acquire and store data from assorted aerodromes which is where weather data are gathered. The Worcester, MA/USA aerodrome is atop a 1,000 foot hill several miles to my southwest and is the nearest ASOS station. Fitchburg, MA/USA is several more miles to my north.
Some years ago I wrote from scratch a METAR -> SQL translator and have been storing both KORH and KFIT into a database (of which I can ask interesting questions) as well as the top of Mount Washington, NH/USA (KMWN). Fun stuff.
I've transited the Worcester Airport a few times, but that was before I was wearing skirts.

Bit manky here too, no surprise in January. Couple of nights with minus 7, thawing a bit during the days (3deg.) Dusting of snow last night, slush this morning. Walking the dogs on local road requires one to stand in well clear of oncoming vehicles, each of which sends wet slush up to waist level as they pass.
Far better to stay in by the fire nursing a hot drink. Just spent nearly Eur 1,000 topping up the heating oil. I'd rather spend it on a flight to somewhere hot, but that's not on the menu. I don't have that freedom.

I’ve just finished clearing a few inches of fresh snow from our driveway. The outside temperature is around 1 degree Centigrade, described by our hyperbolic media as an arctic blast.

Icy cold temperatures are about to hit a large swathe of the US, down to and including places like Texas and Florida. Also going to be a good dump of snow for some. Report here
The wife and I have started watching some weather channels on YouTube and they are talking of polar vortex and shifting jet stream and storms bubbling up out west that could see these conditions lasting a couple of weeks or more.

Re: Weather in your location ?
Temps here in Brisbane, Australia have been if anything slightly below average, it seems that December 28th is usually a fairly hot day, this year was forecast to be 37°, but the sea breeze came up and capped it at about 32°, but brought the humidity up to about 65%, it is definitely better than this time last year when it was 32 to 33° and 90% humidity/ December gave us 340mm of rain though. Overnight lows around 26 to 27° are nuts when it's 28° and 90% humidity at midnight with a heavy overcast.
Today quite cool, was only about 29° with a breeze but we're supposed to be back up into the low 30s this week, pretty normal sub-tropical summer weather. If it doesn't rain I'll have to water my chilli plants..
