The past few days I combined my skirt with a pair of 50 den Oroblu tights (brown, blue and black). And this is very comfortable. even went out shopping in this outfit!

The thick tights are out again. This year we have had the transition from hot 20+ degree weather to cold low teens very literally overnight so the effect is felt more. 22 degrees, 12 degrees, 20 degrees and between 10 and 15 degrees ever since. I tried not wearing tights when out hiking in a skirt recently. My thighs are rather thick, so the chafing normally mitigated by a thin layer of nylon was too uncomfortable for me. I wear tights under every skirt. I have quite a different view on that; there are many brands that provide tights for people 190 cm+. Otherwise a good (girl)friend one mine (1.98 cm) would have to visit men's stores to buy tights and fortunatley for her: this is not the case

Availability is the issue here. Oversize thigths are considerably rare in stores. Men's store Other than that, there is no difference in pricing for a similar product.

Another issues is, that women from 190cm ongoing are proportioned differently and the tights tend to slip at the hips. Some brands might work but at 24,00€ I opt for Adrian, which is considerably cheaper.

My legs are always bare. Seems kind of silly to wear a skirt and then put something on underneath it, and in the summer it is downright uncomfortable. In the winter I am more likely to wear a long skirt than a short one with some sort of tights or panty hose. I don't think regular socks look at all out of place with a skirt; afterall, I am wearing men's shoes, so men's socks seem like the logical choice. Now if I were really trying to look as much like a woman as possible (which I am not), then I suppose pantyhose would make sense. Ditto for shaving legs. Shaving legs just seems way too much bother; men who wear shorts never shave their legs so why should wearing a skirt or dress change that? The only pair of pantyhose I own is part of a halloween costume.

As the daytime temperature is now dropping nearer to 10c, I have shifted from wearing socks with my suit, to 40 denier opaque tights. They are M&S Silky Soft in black, and their shine makes for a smooth interaction with my trousers - that is, no tugging.

This will now be my default mode until about April next year. Luckily I have lots of black M&S opaques!
