It was just my attempt at imparting my impression of the caftaned dude in those pics using a bit of failed humor. Hope I didn't insult anyone too badly. It was not my intent.Ron wrote:what does getting high have to do with kaftans ?dillon wrote:I think I used to get that high, like 35 years ago...

Picture of me from way back in 2012:

Though this is supposed to be a costume, I think it can go here.

Re: Caftans!
Not for me. When it is warm I dislike long sleeves just as much as I dislike leg-tubes. Also dislike the middle eastern those that have high closed necklines. I had a similar garment made for me when I was in Morocco, but with an open shirt collar and short loose sleeves. I felt very elegant, but it was too translucent to be really useful.
The usual Moroccan garment for men in summer is a sleeveless blue foquia with a low scoop neckline decorated with elaborate embroidery. The Tunisian jebba is similar but wider and shorter, usually white. Both are very nice to wear in countries where one has to be covered however hot it becomes, but in Europe, I prefer to go without.

Nice outfit Judah, something I would like to wear. Just as an aside what has happened to Ron? Not had any posts from him for a long while.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

My brother wore something similar when he married his first wife about 45 years ago.
My name is Anthony, please accept me for the person that I am.
