There is a man that wanders the corridors of the hospital in Malaga.
I go there as volunteer interpreter from time to time.
Compared with the various pijamas and gowns you see there, perhaps I don't look odd enough to attract comments, and in any case, both visitors and patients have far more to worry about than a man in a skirt.
Not so different from anywhere else in fact.

Some time ago I joined a SCI-FI forum (now sadly disappeared and taken over by cyber-squatters) and there was one particuler section of that which was to write a section of a story of "your" character. Others in the forum would add their section as though it was a novel. in a continuous story.

Only a few people participated but it was mainly myself and one other fellow from the Chicago area who kept the thread going. The story was in the style of "Star Wars" with an evil Baron who had captured a Princess and a small group people who went in to perform the rescue.

Anyway, my character was a "Han Solo" trader who just kept ahead of the law, but his chosen casual clothing was a denim skirt  and "Rigellian" boots. 8)

(We did complete that tale over some 89,000 words as well as a second tale which ended up at over 110,000 words. A third one was started but the site disappeared before we could complete it :( )

A guy went through my store ( I'd hoped to but I didn't get to talk to him ) in a kilt but he had the proper socks with the tartan flashes and a sporran. He had an informal jacket on so I couldn't see whether the formality extended north of the waist.

Hi Sinned,
The "informal jacket" may have been to keep him dry and warm up top.
The Kilt, socks and flashes are not "formal" in themselves, just normal "kiltwear".
The real give away is the footwear. Heavy duty, indicates serious wearer, lightweighht, probably a hired outfit for a wedding or other such occasion.
That's just a rough guide, the guys who danced on the swords were barefooted! They never wore trousers!

Never noticed his shoes - more impressed with the kilt!

A few years ago I saw a man in Edinburgh wearing an ankle-length tartan skirt.
And last year (although I've not seen him recently) I often saw a big guy in Haddington, hair in a ponytail, wearing a short, plain skirt with some pleats, T-shirt and boots.

Time: Sat. 6th Dec. 2014, 4.10PM, duskish.
Place: Market Place, Wells, Somerset, England, Lots of people about. I was headed W. on the South side going towards the Crown Pub with family when I came almost face to face with a bloke bareheaded in his 60's I think, wearing a donkey jacket open, revealing a darkish grey-blue knee length godet skirt over dark tights and normal shoes. He was in company with others and when I spun round to have another look he was swallowed up in the crowd.
I had my SLR camera over my shoulder, having just taken the attached photo, but a shot of him was clearly out of the question.

Briefly spotted yesterday on the 16.44hrs Gatwick Express from London Victoria, and again on the platform at Gatwick, a man in a red tartan kilt.

In Edinburgh today near the Edinburgh castle, and the number of guys in kilts were many (at least 30). All but two were in traditional tartan kilts: one guy very near the castle gates dressed like William Wallace - with face paint - and me in a light-gray sport kilt :) The day was quite glorious, with occasional broken clouds, and standing in the direct sun got you fairly warm. In Edinburgh for the rest of the week and then down to London for another week to proudly wear my sports kilts. I have brought 4 for this 2 holiday.

Sounds great!
Courage, conviction, nerve, verve, dash, panache, guts, nuts, balls, gall, élan, stones, whatever. Get some and get skirted.

Glad you had a good day here yesterday Skirtingseattle - so often good weather here is spoiled by the haar (sea mist ) drifting in from the Firth of Forth.

Enjoy the rest of your stay - you will certainly not be out of place in Edinburgh wearing any type of kilt. Be great if you could post some pics.

I am in S. Korea at the moment (using kindle fire WiFi) - and am fairly sure I spotted a man in a skirt and leggings a few days ago. It was evening and the fellow ahead if me looked like he was wearing knee-length shorts but I didn't see any bifurcation at the hem.
