Who Shaves

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

Ah, the agony and the ecstacy.
I can fully imagine the agony...

...where does the ecstasy come in? :?

Have fun,

Ian.

"Ecstacy" ??
As with belting your head against a brick wall, it feels good once you stop...

More realistically : after the first few times, the pain does diminish (only slightly, though..) with each session - along with the hair regrowth (I started out with 6 week intervals a few years ago, and now go around 12 - 13 weeks between sessions..).
The pain itself only lasts a few minutes after each body part is done - by the time I'm ready to go home, there is (usually..) no more stinging - in this respect, it is more comparable to a mossie bite, rather than a wasp or bee sting; any redness, spots or rash disappears over a few hours - especially after having a warm shower or bath..

For me, it is worth it for the final results...

I do shave my legs by using Veet Cream with Bladeless that good one, it make my legs smooth - you need to put cream on legs and wait for 3 mins and then shave it and then rise by using shower and then there you go. - It feel good when put tights on -- it so smooth and better than hair on cos it wee bit itchy that how I feel. I keep shave my legs cos it lots better.

I used to use aveeno cream, but now I went for regular hair conditioner. Makes my legs much smoother and lasts longer, plus it has moisturizers in it. Oh and it's cheaper by far. A tiny amount works and can be resued.

Obviously body shaving isn't the big issue that it was 50 years ago, and we should remember that this is at least one thing that man can get away with now without too much question.
I used to shave everything except arms (the only bit that showed when wearing the obligatory logo'd t-shirt of the shop I worked for, and didn't want to invite the bother of explaining to all the other guys why I shaved), but I haven't got the patience for it now.
At the time it did feel good as clothes slide on you rather than scrape. But it was too much hassle in the end, and the regrowth, especially when you sit down on new spikey 1mm hairlets digging into the upper back of the legs, was an irritation I didn't need. So I abandoned the idea.
I don't think men in skirts with hairy legs is an issue at all. They certainly aren't a problem with kilts or shorts. Men have hairy legs. End of story as far as I'm concerned.
It's almost impossible to look elegant though in a sleek and stunning velvet evening number with a pair of thick hairy treetrunks underneath, and this is an area of skirtwearing that I cannot come to terms with as, to me, shaving simply to carry off a particular dressy skirt is teetering on the brink of over-vanity, and primping and preening is just not me, and I don't want to go there. Basically I'm a scruffbag, and I'd rather that than be seen as being too precious about my appearance.
I feel that skirts or kilts for men should be just that, without any other aesthetics involved - therefore, I'm game for skirts accompanied by hairy legs or not.
But, as always, the final disclaimer...each to his own.

This hits the nail on the head, I think.

It can be very much work to keep your body hair down, shaving daily, and not to mention the hair on our backs and bums :? :( where we cannot ourselves get to or see what we are actually doing. So in that case, returning to the easy way, of letting it be, that may also play a large part in the choice of clothes that are worn. To wear dainty skirts / shirts with a hairy body as an ape, is just not done, so the "manly" clothing is the given choice.

When you have the luxury of a lovely clean and smooth hairless body by nature, as some men do have, then many finer garments look good which look much less well with hair bulging unsightly out everywhere. Hairless bodys are not any less manly, and look nice and clean.

This may also be one of the determining factors to the automatic choice of plain clothing for men. Just being practical.

I shave when I need to

Post by Departed Member »

All,

Since I dress femme only once per week or so, that's also when I shave. I use a three-blade cartridge razor and shaving cream, the same that I use for my face. My results are always good, as long as I scrub my legs regularly with a loofa pad.

I try to use the loofa once a day, every time I shower. If I don't I get small point defects on the front of my thighs when I shave, just above the knee. Loofa takes care of this problem every time.

Yeah, shaving is a bother, but to me the results are worth it. I wear skirts, heels and pantyhose almost every time I dress femme, so the effort of shaving combines with the pantyhose to provide a really good look.

I always start my shaving in the most difficult area, namely the back of my thighs. Then I do the fronts, knees and then the lower leg. It's helpful to save the easiest areas for last!

Cheers, John

I went through a recent experiment with shaving my head and face...

I was trying to see which famous people I looked most like at each stage
The Mullet is just a wig I got for my daughter, lol.

I have gone through periods of leg/torso shaving and then quit.
I am currently thinking about starting up again.
I also have tried to use chemical warfare on my hair as well as mechanical plucking.

My lower legs have always been pretty much smooth and hair free.
I have no idea why... the shins are especially smooth without any help from me.

I do like my armpits shaved... for comfort, and odor.

First pic... how I used to look a LONG, LONG time ago
Second pic... how I currently look
Third pic... the experiment

It's all relevant, being part of our overall look. of which the skirt is again PART of.

Hi WSMAC,

Interesting pictures...do I see some ZZ Top influences in one of them?

Here's a shot of my legs, in a typical femme outfit. As I've mentioned before, I'm regular guy from the waist up and femme from the waist down. I took this picture a day after shaving; I can go about that long before regrowth becomes visible.

WOW! Great looking legs John... can I have them?

I've got larg-ish calves and somewhat muscular thighs, with scarred-up knees atop big old wide feet!

Ummm, I mean my legs are atop my big feet... not my knees directly  :P

I probably won't get around to shaving my legs again until after school's out in two weeks... too much for my poor mind to manage right now

I shave my legs daily. I do this for two primary reasons: appearance and comfort. Shaved legs look and feel so much better than hairy legs, that I keep my legs shaved even in times when I'm not wearing skirts.
Does wearing pants make you a lesbian?
You like mushrooms. I like pantyhose. What makes your taste OK, but mine not?
