Thanks man. It is VERY easy to walk in and super comfortable. I can't wait to wear it again!

I like that skirt, the length looks good, without being too long. I would be happy to wear that one, but probably without a slit (Depending on how wide it is of course)

I have one denim skirt about that length, I wanted something shorter than ankle length to keep it from under my feet, but still long enough to keep my knees warm, long enough so I don't have to worry about modesty when seated and also long enough to reduce the amount of flesh liable to be eaten by midges. Midas made it for me, a customised cargo skirt. It is great for wearing when I sail.

Thats the cool thing, it doesn't have a slit anywhere. Down each side it is folded, and as you walk it expands and contracts. This is the skirt on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/330772127899?va ... 1497.l2649

Dammit, I've put it on my watch list and, if I'm outbid on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ 150. I'll have spare cash to get it. That design is new to me, but a good idea. Two side box pleats is a great idea. My cash reserves are low, but I will get one soon anyway, and be half killed for the extravagence, so thanks for the link, I think. I'm also rather taken by a grey A line further down on the shop's list.

I got the skirt, the panasonic went for $420.00, while I put a top bid of $312.00 and hoped for the best. I'm still awaiting delivery.

I wore mine yesterday to the eye doc and the receptionist thought it was awesome and asked where she could get one. Funny thing is, she never asked why I was wearing a skirt - she just wanted one. I am honestly starting to believe that people really don't care what other people wear. I guess if I dressed up as a drag queen I'd get stares and comments, but a well dressed guy doesn't seem to matter.

Exactly, but it seems you have to go through it in order to believe it.

I completely agree. I thought I was going to stick out, that the news helicopters would circle, mobs would appear... turns out I didn't make the 6:00 news and the mobs carried on with their normal business.

I wore capri length shorts today to a family get together. As soon as I walked in the door one of the family commented that it was a different sight. Most of this side of the family has never seen me wear anything other than a skirt.

I guess that no one cares if you are wearing what you normally wear. I felt out of place in the two tube garment and others felt it. The only reason form having the"shorts" on is that just before the event I was working on antenna towers, which are not very skirt friendly.

Today I had the morning off work and had a few errands to do involving a trip to the post office to pick up a package, the supermarket to get some sundry items, and the chemist. I was wearing a just above the knee length khaki / beige pleated skirt teamed with a black long sleeved pullover shirt. A very comfortable and functional outfit.

Not a problem in the world, although I did get a couple of "double takes" in the supermarket queue.

Cheers

I was out all day last Saturday in a knee length tan denim skirt. Went to a bunch of yard sales and such with my wife. Then to a restaurant for dinner. I didn't notice anyone giving me the hairy eyeball.... :D I had a great time just being me in a skirt.

The stars (aka the wind and fog) finally aligned for me last Saturday morning and I was able to get out in a below knee length cotton skirt I bought a couple of months ago. I wore it shopping at the farmer's market and after returning home, to my local shopping street to visit the bank to use the cash machine and buy quarters for the laundromat. On the way home from the bank I stopped at a new cafe to inquire on their closing time. After that I went to the laundromat to do a load of dress shirts. I tend to be cold, so all this time I was wearing a black boiled wool jacket. While walking in the sun I was too warm and I got to thinking of what lighter weight jacket I would wear in the afternoon.
Alas, it was not to be. By the time my usual mid-day radio program was over at 2PM, the wind had increased to its usual 15-20 mph and clouds had dimmed the sun. I changed into pants so that I wouldn't be too cold when I walked home at 6PM from my afternoon activities. A 15 mph wind off of a 50 degree F ocean can get cold. :x

Quite right. This past week I wore a skirt to:

The gas station, Dollar General Store, My denture supplier(twice), Home Depot (three times), Lowes (three times), Food Lion, and Walmart. In the automotive department at Walmart I spent about 10 minutes talking with the department manager about why they don't stock quality wiper blades in 13" length. In these parts Jeep Wrangler's are common as dirt, and the only blades available are Trico and ANCO which are both about as much use as leaning out the window with a rag. Point is, I did not get a single comment anywhere. No one cares, or if they do they don't care enough to mention it.
