Re: Sightings "in the wild"
Gent in my local Tesco seen today in a multilayer lightweight skirt, a lightweight flowing top with gather about the neck, and black tights.
overall look was a little too feminine for my tastes, so wasn't too sure if he's one of us, or a cross dresser.
The girl/woman he was with seemed to havea determinedly neutral look on her face

During my Atlanta trip, temperatures in the 80S, I saw a 'girl', with a white blouse, black skirt and black "fantasy" tights. A guy on the same sidewalk said something to 'her'. Then 'she' gave him an answer and when I heard 'her', she happened to be a guy with a mustache.

Re: Sightings "in the wild"
A few days ago, saw someone in Woodinville, WA wearing a black Utilikilt, long black sox, hiking boots, and either a tank top or a muscle tee. Was waiting at a crosswalk while I was turning left to get onto the highway.

Re: Sightings "in the wild"
Somewhere in Utah yesterday, stopped for groceries and saw a fellow in a short khaki skirt headed into the store. He was very tall and slender, a sort of sun-dried raisin look that is not uncommon in the American desert.
I wanted to run after him, as I was in a knee-length skirt of my own, but I was fussing with using an MRE heater to make a cup of coffee, and had my hands full.

Re: Sightings "in the wild"
I was driving in Augusta, Maine last week so I didn't get a positive ID but I think I saw a man in a knee length denim skirt. From behind this person did not walk like a woman and the brief glimpse I got in my mirror certainly looked like a man. Made me wish I had worn a skirt too.

Sweden male train drivers wear skirts after shorts row
A dozen male train drivers in Sweden have circumvented a ban on shorts by wearing skirts to work in hot weather.
The workers, who operate the Roslagsbanan line north of the capital Stockholm, have been wearing skirts to work for the past two weeks.
Employer Arriva banned the drivers from wearing shorts after taking over the running of the line in January.
But the company has given the men its blessing to wear skirts, according to local newspaper Mitti.

ChristopherJ,
Good to have you back. Now don't be a stranger to us; I'm sure there is much to tell from the years you've been silent here.
Have fun,
Ian.

Re: Sightings "in the wild"
Sorry, but ill health (anxiety and panic attacks) combined with COPD and weight gain from taking medication have all combined into the situation where I have not worn skirts for quite a long time now. I can't see this changing in the near future.
However, I do occasionally from into the Cafe - just to browse a few threads and see what's happening here.
My best wishes to you all.

Sorry to learn about the health issues Christopher. However it is good to have you around so don't feel you can't join in as and when you choose, your input was always interesting and frequently made me stop and think. That is always something to be valued, however you choose to dress.
Have fun,
Ian.

Re: Sightings "in the wild"
This afternoon @ about 3:30 saw a gent in a Tripp or Lip Service skirt walking on Chestnut Hill Avenue up from Cleveland Circle in Brighton. I was driving and did not get to stop. He was busy listening to his headset music. took a left on Commonwealth Ave. Maybe I will get a chance to see him again.
Cheers,
Steve

Utilikilt sighting in downtown Chicago. I said "nice kilt!" and he said "Thanks!", then gave me the thumbs up as he saw I was skirted.
When I heard about skirting, I jumped in with both feet!

Re: Sightings "in the wild"
I finally saw a young man walking, he looked like he was wearing a black utility kilt, with perhaps a black T-shirt. I was very glad that someone besides me wears kilts. Btw sorry I haven't been here for awhile. I have been wearing kilts every day except Sunday morning at church. At home I switch to a comfy skirt.

Out of curiosity, why is a kilt inappropriate at church? All up the rig is completely formal and absolutely appropriate.

Re: Sightings "in the wild"
Well I usually do wear a kilt to choir practice and other "informal" times at church, but I asked a friend of mine who is a member there about wearing a kilt to church -kinda sounding him out about it you know- and he said "I can guarantee you some there won't care and I can guarantee you some will" and so I just decided I wouldn't make waves. I guess I can wear pants for two or three hours a week though I'd rather not, lolcrfriend wrote: It's good to read you again Gary. I hope all is well.
Thanks. Everything seems to be going fairly well, having fun playing Kirbstone chess at chess.com *hint hint for any chess players out there* and having some interesting conversations both on the internet and in real life.

edited again: I guess I better add, I don't have the full rig, just the kilt. I don't even have a sporran (yet). I usually just wear a t-shirt for the top.
Sorry about the different colors I just like to experiment.
Someone posted a good idea on another thread I was reading in this forum, to find a kilt-like skirt and wear it with a sporran and most people will just think it is a kilt. This strikes me as a great idea because most skirts imo are easier to get on and I somehow like them better than most kilts (also they're cheaper if you get them at a thrift shop. Hard to find a genuine kilt at a thrift shop, at least I have had no luck in doing so!)
edited because my computer can't spell, lol
