Re: Skirt friendly tested locations
Hello from the new guy!
I realize that this thread was started some time ago and is likely played out. However, I must speak up and defend Indiana as being a "safe" place to wear kilts and skirts.
I live in a suburb of Indianapolis. I wear a Utilikilt with hose as often as I am able. To date, I have received only positive comments if any comments at all are spoken.
I travel with my family throughout the midwest and the south. Again, very little fanfare. Pretty much a non-event. Maybe I have enough of the "don't f**k with me" look to avoid derision. I do my level best to act naturally, be as polite as possible and speak with those around me when necessary. I find that my courtesy is met with similar courtesy in response. On occasion, when a comment is made, it is usually positive. A surprising comment came from someone wearing a "blue collar" uniform shirt to the effect of "I wish I was able to wear one of those (utilikilt) on a hot day like today." I responded that they are quite comfortable and his response was again positive with an "I bet".
So there you have it. The sum of my experiences in a kilt/skirts/MUG. It is what you make it. I like standing out form the crowd and being comfortable. A Utilikilt and hosed legs accomplish that readily.

I knew it was old when I revived it, but I thought it was useful to address his post anyway, even if he isn't around to see it any longer. I think any support for the idea that a particular place is safe or uneventful is a good thing here, and as few positive things as there are for me to say about Indiana, I thought I should offer one of those few in defense of it.Since1982 wrote:Nice of you folks trying to help Matt out, but did you by chance look at the date he posted?

You like mushrooms. I like pantyhose. What makes your taste OK, but mine not?
