Sports skirts

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

Hombre !
The blue outfit looks really good.
How could anyone object to that? How could anyone claim itwould be better to have some cloth between the legs, as in shorts?

I would not wear anything so short around town, but to go running or to go to the beach -- perfect.

Yes. but when your head is a reality is this practical? or do you leave your head behind when out and about?

Quick stop home before heading off for emergency job in Miami. South beach should be a safe place to go for a jog in the new Under Armor skirt. A very quick test jog let me know this one will be comfortable when it gets hot here, although no feeling of attached shorts mixed with lighter weight material led to feeling like nothing was there. That may take some getting used to

I like both the red/black combo and the blue. It's nice to have the climate and the quiet beaches to use these outfits. It also is nice to be young enough to jog.
I'm far too old for that now, as jogging is an impact activity and not recommended for near-70 year-olds. Rowing is my passion, so like the cyclists and kayakers I do my sport sitting down !
Alas, that rules short sportskirts out, so I confine my wearing of them to the garden in Summertime. (right now, daytime temps. here are still in single figures Celsius).

Zizkov: I think thats the issue I have with the blue shirt/skirt I posted. It is a bit too much for public wear right now. I still get nervous and axious about jogging in much more conservative outfits.

Ok, tried about a mile and a half jog in a nature trail wearing the Under Armour skirt. The lighter material is nice, but it kinda feels a little bit too short for public consumption. Although, it does not look shorter then the others I have the light material gives you almost zero feedback as to where it is as you jog.

As said, I'm looking forward to trying one of the Adidas MC M10 skirts, as they seem like regular running short material, but in skirt form. Either that or one from skirtsports with attached brief instead of shorts.

But do you think any of the public would notice that it is a skirt rather than a short?
Same length, dark material, it would probably go unnoticed.

Keep wearing those "BRIGHT" Orange sandals and they will see nothing !

IMHO
Actually for those first time skirt/kilt wearers the theme should be "Go Dark".
Just like denim skirts are hardly noticed thinking that they are shorts of sorts.
The whites; brights and pastels are to be avoided til one has the confidence
to mix and match fashion items to blend in and not be mistaken as a flashing
neon sign saying I am doing something different.
It is only a matter of time before the rule book is tossed but til then a
conservative approach to wearing darker colors or black is recommended.

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

R.M.: Yea, the year I decided to try Nike Air Rifts they decided to go with flourecent colors. They also have bright green and 'vivid pink'. Although this year they are selling a more discrete blue. One nice thing about being down here is that bright colors are more then accepted in beach communities. I will be down in Key West next week for work and will take Since1982's advice about skirts being acceptable down there and try to be more relaxed and enjoy wearing em down there.

It's a great looking outfit and you wear it well. I vote FOR the dayglow sandals too. :D :D

Wearing skirts that are unobtrusive is something I find comparable to swimming in the shallow end of the pool.
Like being able to stand up in the pool, having the comfort margin that comes with that unobtrusiveness is especially
handy when you are first doing it.
