The babygrowers we have here, from my recollection, had poppers in the crotch area, down the legs and on the shoulders for easy access/removal.

Oh the double entendre just got too dangerous for me. Ask me to parachute behind German lines, but not this!

Yes I know Daryl. It would have been easy for this thread to have degenerated but it is thanks to the self-restraint of the members that it hasn't. Isn't the English Language wonderful in its richness and subtilty? Ronnie Barker was a High Priest in its use methinks.

I suppose it's sad that I'm not familiar with Ronnie Barker but yes the language is wonderful for its richness and subtlety not to mention its subtilty. I am not a fan of the simplification and pruning taking place within it.

Daryl, if you are interested in learning the complexities of English at the feet of a master then you cannot have better than Ronnie B. Choose any of his on UBoob such as the Mastermind question before last, your nuts m'lord and even his Spoonerisms. At the apex is his four candles sketch, written as far back as 1976, was voted the best sketch of all time. It is one of the few that I have seen recently and is still as funny as it was then. He never professed to be a comedian - he always said he was a character actor and was one half of the duo The Two Ronnies although both of them also had their individual comedy careers. The world is definitely sadder for his passing.

Went out to check the condition of a canal this morning, wearing a denim 'A'-line skirt with a warm underskirt. There turned out to be a problem with the water supply, as the intake valve and filter had become choked with weeds and waterlogged sticks bought down the local streams by recent heavy rain. I hadn't really come equipped to deal with a mess like that, nevertheless I just had to get down onto a slippery foothold in the muddy trench, squat forwards, open the inlet valve and pull the debris out of the freezing cold water by hand as it swept by.

At least dried mud brushes off denim fairly easily.

One does what needs doing, frequently with the tools at hand. Much as I detest denim, I do admit that it certainly has its place.

Did the canal refill properly?

Two of the basins are filling nicely now, but there seems to be an obstruction in the transfer pipe that feeds water onwards to the main canal. I'll have to go out there with some drain rods and a screw auger next time.

Today was the first time this year that I was able to go out in a skirt. The weather has been just awful.

This is what I wore I tried to take some outside pictures but with the glare from the snow and the sun they didn't come out.

First I went to mass at church than I went to the car dealer for service. There I got a free car wash. Went to the car wash nothing was said but boy did I get a lot of looks. The were a couple of RED Necks there(We have them in NY also ) I think that I totally confused them between my Skirt tights and knee boots and my Vietnam veterans cap.

Than I went to staples and finally home depot. It was very pleasant at Home Depot I got a couple of "Thanks For Your service" comments Than i got into a discussion with a very nice lady over the bs about charging a nickel for bags.

Now that's a great look OS. The skirt is a nice length for winter, I presume thick tights, knee-length boots and a good top. Nowt wrong with that.

That's interesting. I live in almost the same corner of the planet, albeit a little bit northeast, but here we are on the eleventh of the month (and year) and I've not yet worn trousers in 2018. Of course a single one of my skirts could possibly make ten or a dozen for Oldsalt, but at least they're warm.

It was very nice, though, to be able to dig out some of my spring/fall skirts in the comparative "heat".

Here more or less the same. After jeans for weeks I'm walking around in a skirt. And I like it very much. But I stay inside.

OS, BL, Carl et al,

You guys NE.Stateside get real winters. We were warned that we'd get an Arctic cold snap this week. We did in fact get a couple of degrees of frost one morning and I had to pour a saucepan of warm water over my car windows before setting off to work. Not a flake of snow this Winter so far here. Daytime temps generally in single figures plus Centipede, about 38-40 F.

For Winter walks, Thick tights, no special footwear, comfy knee-length skirts and a short warm jacket suffice. For my balding head, a wooly hat, of course. My dogs wear what Nature gave them!
