Cafe patrons' ages
Re: Cafe patrons' ages
Welcome DB, From the info you have given I'm almost twice your age. I think there's just one punter ahead of me in this race, one R.M.Anderson, but try as I might I can't overtake him.

At 81 I am one of the oldest members here! And if you think you need work just wait until you are in your 80's!

I was born in 1943 in the not so great state of Pennsylvania, Left there and ended up in South Carolina right in the heart of the bible belt thanks to My Uncle Sam's Air Force. I love the place and have no problems with skirt wearing as skirts and dresses are all I wear. No-one even bats an eye about it. In over 7 years of skirting I have had only 2 nasty comments about my skirts, and a bunch of very nice comments about my skirts.

Thanks for keeping this poll active - it is very interesting! I've just recently joined this community and am starting to explore around. I had to quickly vote in this poll before I get bumped into the 50+ age bracket.
I'm curious to know if the lower numbers of younger folk here are because there are fewer skirts being worn, or if they are just not interested in (or don't feel the need to have) this type of community. If that has already been discussed elsewhere, my apologies. Please point me in that direction!

I think many men in the 20-30 age group are still hiding their skirt wearing from the world or are part of a community where its accepted, and such have not yet gone looking for community. The ones that do wear in that age group probably get their community elsewhere (Crossdressing/fashion/genderfluid etc. forums).Benzentin wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 7:00 pm I'm curious to know if the lower numbers of younger folk here are because there are fewer skirts being worn, or if they are just not interested in (or don't feel the need to have) this type of community. I think the fear of being excluded from society is just so big in that group. I was suppressing it for many years, and in retrospect I wish I had the guts to go loud in High School when I wanted to. Now I'm old enough not to care, I've lived about half my average life span already so I might as well live the second half wearing what I wish instead of conforming to stupid rules.
Just my thoughts though, I was born in the tail end of the 80ties.
I think overall, there are quite a few young males that wear skirts/dresses, either in secret or in public. But I think most of them feel more belonging to non-binary, genderfluid or trans/crossdressing communities, using skirts primarily as a way to be perceived as more feminine.

I think the answer is in plain sight. I remember an older woemn saying to my mum as a child boys are not like girls, they are such sensitive little souls. Men too are sensitive if they would only admit it.Seb wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 7:39 am

Also, it would be ungentlemanly of me to tell my wife that she looks manly in her clothes. I would never do it. She can wear whatever she likes afterall.
The same rules dont apply to men:
Men can be told "you look like a girl in that"
Men can be told "that looks awful"
Men can be told "you look gay in that"
Men are are more sensitive than they let on. Consequently they bite their tongue and play safe. Worst of all it's mostly other men giving each other a hard time. Probably to deflect from their own insecurity.
