Chest mounds, bumps, the word is breasts!
YES!
I think it important for public health to use the word "breasts." Both men and women have breasts; women on the average have larger ones. We all have breast tissue that is subject to breast cancer. Men have a higher mortality rate after breast cancer diagnosis than women because they are too often unaware of the risk because they don't understand they have breasts. A good male friend of mine had breast cancer; his brother died of it.

OK, they are breasts. Or tits. Or boobs. I relent. From now on I will discontinue my pet phrase of "chest mounds".

John, they are parts of your body and you should be free to call them what you like. I also would like to point out that here in the cafe, you don't have to be embarrassed about having them either. I think you are amazing and should be proud of them, whatever you call them.

I generally find two problems with dresses.
1. The tops of many dresses are made to support/accentuate/show off the two bumps which females tend to have.
2. A dress takes up a large proportion of your look to the extent that your look is the dress.
At best, I'm an A-cup, and that's a generous estimate, but, that doesn't stop me from wearing dresses, especially those with low necklines, if anything, I enjoy exposing what little cleavage I have when in a low cut number. In that department, I have no fear whatsoever. As for dresses being
the look, I'm perfectly fine with that, in a way, that's why I love wearing dresses as much as I do.

I'm glad to have been able to have instilled confidence in you to try dresses. Sometimes, all is takes is a little push to help you expand your horizons, then from there, the resulting trip can be amazing.

Quite right. Just about anything is possible when it comes to dresses, the only limit is in your own imagination. Once upon a time, I didn't think I could make dresses work, today, they're almost all I wear on my outings.

Yes, my dear departed wife used to say to me, "John, you're one of a kind. You have tits and a dick".

That’s why I stick to buying t-shirt mini or midi dresses because they fit the male frame too and are basically just very long t-shirts. I find wearing leggings extremely comfortable and help me walk better but the only problem was that my male bulge would show so I searched high and low for a very long t-shirt or sweatshirt but couldn’t find any. However, I soon discovered t-shirt dresses in the women’s clothes department and they have been great and very comfortable to wear that I am now a t-shirt dress addict and I cannot stop buying them. From time to time I wear them with opaque 100 denier black tights but it’s usually leggings I wear.
That's quite also my approach to dresses which is somehow independent from me wearing skirts.
What I found quite interesting were some runway looks like
this that might work for me as well. Honestly spoken it took some time to find a "extremely long sweater" also known as dress I like so now I just have to wait for colder days to come.

I was going to start a thread on this very issue.
The biggest problem for me is the height of the top and consequently the waistline high around the tummy, closely followed by often very low necklines that require shaving my chest or even obvious bust shaping. Narrow shoulders are also a problem. Yes there are dresses that work, literally about 1 in a 100 I will look at. They have to have no waist seam ie seamed down the sides not a top and skirt joined up, and be basically shapeless. Skirts are much less a problem, in fact the extra room round the hips may suit men with bigger strides. Skirts for men have come and mostly gone, a bit like one named after yourself Midas. Dresses for men is a much bigger gap in the market someone ought to fill.
I don't envy slim petite women more than when dress shopping, not withstanding the ease they can take them into the changing rooms to try on first.

I'll leave dresses to the ladies for now. Skirts? Yes, please make them for men, I'll wear them. An A-line skirt is much easier to fit to the male body than a dress (other than some shapeless dress that doesn't look good anyways). And while yes, men and women both being able to wear pants and skirts is gender equality, I'd still like some sartorial distinction between the sexes. I guess you can wear a robe if you want, but I'll take a skirt because it's less twisty.

The only dresses that are suitable for men are pinafore/overall and t-shirt mini and midi dresses. There are no high waistlines and low necklines with t-shirt dresses and I find them very comfortable. They go great with leggings or a pair of tights. I highly recommend them for any man wanting to wear a dress.

Just had this pic. delivered to me by the daughter of a deceased friend of my late bro. who appears in it
Fast rewind to December 1955. All-boys' boarding school production of 'The Yeomen of the Guard'. All female parts played by younger boys with treble voices. All were required to wear dresses, of course. This remains the only pic. of self and Bro. Mike singing together.
When measured for my costumes I was all of 5 foot one inch tall. Just four years later at age 17 I left that school having grown a whole foot at 6 foot one. I wasn't a soprano anymore!

I’ve only recently dipped my toe in the water regarding dresses, but I have to say I absolutely love them. I think the trick is finding styles of dresses that you like and of course that fit you.
I am relatively lucky that I am more or less a standard UK 16 top and bottom and I don’t have problems in the top half like some others do.
What I adore about a dress is that it’s an all in one, just add shoes or boots and you are done! I also love the feeling of closing the zip on the back of a dress and have that sense of “I am in”. I’ve come to the conclusion that dresses are even more comfortable than skirts. I might now consider experimenting with wearing a corset underneath a dress (not tightly laced) to pull me in a bit.

Nah, Steamman, just let it all hang out, like so.

This got a very good reaction at a social function last night.
There's even a feather boa waiting to accompany it on another occasion sometime in October.

Kirbstone: Cool beans, my man!
steamman: Good for you! Dresses are just plain wonderful as I wear them as much as I can. And yeah, the comfort and convenience can't be beat. When it comes to finding styles, it's all about trial and error and experimentation to find something suitable, and looks good.

Yes, dresses are more comfortable, at least when it isn't too hot in situations where going topfree is inappropriate. But I can't imagine a corset being comfortable--it would defeat that purpose.
