I would argue that the main purpose of this forum is to change the stereotypical association of skirts and dresses with women's clothing.
Cross-dressing should mean dressing in a manner so as to appear as a member of the opposite gender.
What about this couple—are they cross-dressing? I say no.

I said this on another thread Phatback. Women have taken the entire mens wardrobe into their own wardrobe and made it theirs. I have no problem with that.
Howver we a problem when it comes to 'crossdressing'. Now when men wear any clothes at all, its probably already exists over the aisle. So in a literal sense he is now crossdressing by wearing anything. There is an attempt to retain what was already over there but you can't have your cake and eat it.

One answer, of course, is "Yes, of course it's possible, in the same way it'd be possible if one was Islamic, Jewish, a Jedi, or a Buddhist, or of some other faith."
However, the answer that actually makes sense for the modern realm is to toss the question aside with the force and power it deserves as being inappropriate from the outset, and immaterial in reality. The term has become a simple slur on men. It is never applied to women (although it frequently should be), and is thus discriminatory by nature. So expunge it from the lexicon.
See, sometimes this stuff is easy. The answers are right there for anybody interested enough to look.

True but it won't happen. Instead there needs to be simple irrefutable statements that leaves the person who says "you are a crossdresser" with nothing ro say.

You will never stop judgement and insult, but you can decide how much you let it affect you.
Fact is, that if you care that much about being called a cross dresser, wear the drab, conform and pretend to be happy.
You can always don silly socks as a mark of rebellion.
Pretty sure that this could be applied to any of the Gods humans use to beat themselves, and others, up with too.

Good article. I'm a Bible-believing Christian and I wear skirts and dresses. I don't identify with the term "cross-dresser," but the author defines the phrase for his article, so it's OK with me. I'll wear a blue long-sleeved dress to our Mennonite church gathering this morning.

You first sentence "until every one of us.." could be true for MIS but certainly is not possible for "everyone". There will always be one. Being called a crossdesser truely does not affect me because noone ever does. I don't present in a feminine manner because i that's not who I am. If i tried to "act' feminine then yes maybe.
I just dont like the label. If I were called a crossdresser i would have a go. Fact is I do care and will not be wearing funky socks to compensate.
