Gents please. We are all on the same side, each dealing with the hand we are dealt. Each of us has come up with ways to survive and be the best that we can. This is a set of posts created by AntoineParis for us to happily discuss the crazy Paris Fashion for men, when we all know they are constrained by the male drab box as we were.

We should be celebrating that we few men have discovered a way out of the box. The fact that most men do not have the balls to get out of the box and that many women seem to be gravitating to the same dull box should be a source of laughter and patting each other on the back.

Please let us be happy with each other, and help each other in our each chosen direction. What ever that is.

I want to hear how each of us is progressing in our skirt/dress wearing and I am fascinated how various cafe members have changed things about themselves to suit skirt/dress wearing, whether that is physical or mental.

Isn't that the truth for women! On Sunday mornings when I'm not wearing a man's coat and tie outfit (not very often) I go full en femme. That includes a dress, makeup, painted nails, earrings, and frequently, heels. Very few women wear heels anymore these days, and well over half the women wear trousers. And I see a lot of sneakers and jeans on women.

Stevie, I feel bad for you with that disgusting post. However, there is something seriously wrong with the male culture we have now.
No wonder there are so many crossdessers and transgender women with the ABSOLUTELY dead men's "fashions". That's a reason I am on estrogen so I can go en femme without looking like a "man in a dress". I feel much calmer, no longer consider suicide, and no longer drink alcohol to excess with the estrogen. I used to suffer from high blood pressure: 160/100 mm Hg. By the grace of God I did not suffer a stoke. Now the blood pressure is down to 129/54.

OK, I'm used to the RIDICULOUS moderation at Crossdressers.com and how I had to tiptoe on eggshells to avoid the wrath of moderators. I feel a lot freer on skirtcafe.org.

Now to both of you and Antoine, regarding fashion for men, be it Paris, London, New York, Rome or Ecclefechan.
Fashion for men by any standards will never die while there are designers designing and people buying, simple!
How, men as individuals approach it is up to them, exercise your freedom, just don't complain and do nothing at the same time.
In the clip on men as Antoine posted, I saw little to attract me except that one cardigan which Susie and I would share the rights to.
I've also been pointed in the direction of a rather fetching mini skirt suit from Dior at the basement bargain price of £5,000 UKS.
Absurd, sure, but doable just by changing the name to Marks and Spencer, Next or whatever, that is my freedom and I will use it, fashion, I'll create my own if nobody will do it for me.
I'm now taking things easy for a bit, but heads up, it's not over yet.

I think the reason is men have been trained to not complain. They are prevented from making choices by giving them intangible reasons to not do it eg "that's nice but you look gay" , "no I'm not" etc. it's not a tangible problem to solve. They easiest thing to do, is to not do it, problem solved.

Secondly men face huge, now insurmountable prejudice that nobody will admit is even there. The Wikipedia has a very good summation of the unspoken prejudge men face:

The reality is that men face prejudice in all walks of life and nobody is doing a damn thing about it. If men complian they are moaning and that's unmanly. If men fight back that's misogynistic.

1. Men, real men are not remotely interested. Thus MIS are not real men
2. Men are weak and not worthy of the manly mantle the worldplaces on their shoulders
3. Men have been trained from birth to act in a certain way and are unable to break their conditioning.

I was walking down an alley wearing a skirt. Some man called out an insult, and I yelled back so my voice could be heard for several blocks. That shut him up. Shortly a police cruiser came by in the alley.

Sorry to hear that a bigoted man gave you such an unpleasant experience, John.

I would like to join with shadowfax in saying its not right that you or another MIS is treated badly.

I will also say that it is my view that the 3rd option I gave is the reason men are so locked (unwittingly) in most instances in the male box.

I'll be perfectly honest and blunt here. Any man that dares to stick his nose outside the "man box" is entirely likely to get it punched. I'm speaking figuratively there, but one gets the picture.

Unless the man involved is well known and respected, he is going to be in for abuse (mostly verbal) from the knuckle-draggers and the dimwits. It's part of the policing process that keeps men down. It's not quite good enough that women don't want anything to do with us in intimate relationships, it's that our male counterparts can be overtly hostile. The overtly (and covertly) hostile acts by both sexes keeps us safely "in our place", which is to be content little drones and subservient to our masters.

That is precisely what makes it easier for me to go skirted at work than doing errands. I know they can replace me, but as of this precise time they can't. There's not any move in that direction (nor any intent), quite the opposite because the only one who could pretend to do so has drastically reduced his roles when he opted to work half time. Eventually, some "high managers" from their ivory tower could cause me problems, but only because they don't know how much troubles they would cause to the company in the same time. On the other hand, doing errands, people don't know me (for most of them), they will most likely not cause me any problem, but eventually they can opt to not cause me anything... at all, including any kind of relationship or appreciable interaction.
