We should not feel like we have to do anything, clotheswise. Then again MIS are so few on the ground I feel a bit like I'm letting the side down when I'm in trousers.Modoc wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 7:48 pmI wore pants today for the first time in a while, just because I wanted to. I think that the goal for men is to have and exercise the freedom to dress as we want every day. No compulsion to wear anything but what one finds comfortable for whatever reason. Some people, men and women, will probably always object but such is the way of life.Barleymower wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 10:35 pm
I thought at one point I would be happy to never wear trousers again. Not so. Skirts can be uncomfortable and cold. Sometimes I'm more than happy to pull on some trousers. Plus, some the circles I live in are not ready for men in skirts. It is my conviction that for them to get to grips with the concept, they would need to accept that we are all not so different.
Will some people always object? Yes they will. They have a view on how people should look. It starts with nurses, police, business men, school kids etc. In their eyes it's what's 'normal'. Whatever that is. It's simplistic but MIS are running into this everytime we go outside. It takes some getting used too.
The other thing I came across recently was a young women who said she has little sympathy for men. Her lack of sympathy is down to the evils men have done towards women. The reason her attitude surprised me (it should not have been a surprise) was she has never experienced discrimination, quite the opposite in fact.
Either way I'm not looking for sympathy. It is an example of the lag between change and change in attitude.
