No, too late. I have seen plenty of young women displaying "builder's crack" (though usually at warmer parts of the year)

Low rise jeans with a thong underneath, but protruding far above the waistline of the jeans, was fashionable for teenage girls about 5 or 10 years ago. It was terrible. None of them looked good in it.
Keep on skirting,

You might like the Holly Hills Cord skirt from Woolrich. I have several cord skirts from floor length to mini. This one is just below the knee. The quality is really pleasing.
Check out the Penn Woods corduroy skirts by Woolrich. On sale in the catalog, $39.99. Sizes up to 18.

Was it the fabric or the style that made her think it feminine?
The style could hardly be plainer, no frills or decoration, just a fairly straight skirt.
For some reason a tartan kilt seems to be acceptable because Scottish (therefore not gay), but a plain skirt cannot be Scottish, therefore there must be another reason for wanting to wear it.

Yes, Carl, denim has been feminized. The thousands of denim skirts on the market were not manufactured for men.

Any pictures of the skirt in question? I have had no problems with pencil skirts, either denim or formal. The straight shape and cur with the right colours I think makes a difference

I am sure I put up on the forum a photo of myself in the denim skirt and tweed jacket in the airport on the way to France last september (I think). But I can't find it now.
