The term "misandry" (a hatred of men) already exists, so the other similarly-rooted words are likely valid. One just never hears them.JohnH wrote:Maybe we ought to coin a word - "misandrogenic" to describe the severely restricted dress codes imposed on men.

That wouldn't work with MOH as she generally wears leggings which she would maintain are designed and almost solely worn by women. And I would certainly draw the line at wearing leggings!!!!

I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

I'm pretty sure my mum used to put me in leggings when I was a child back in the 1950s. Other than that, I wore short trousers until I was 12 years old in my second year of senior school.

Hi Charlie,
I was born in 58 and I remember those things very well. They were tight fitting and like ski-pants, they had built in stirrups to stop them riding up if you wore "wellies". (Wellington Boots).
As I recall, they were also unisex, in that boys and girls wore them equally. Only difference being that the girls changed into skirts when they were inside, no recollection of us, mere males, doing anything remotely similar.
Steve.

I remember them too, and I'm 8 years your junior, Stevie. I think they were ousted by track suits in the mid 70s.
Keep on skirting,

Must have been a UK fashion. I was born in 57 and never saw them. I am wearing blue denim look leggings at the moment as leggings have become my usual attire at home in cool weather.
As a matter of fact, the sun DOES shine out of my ...
