People here seem to wear flip-flops (they are called "Jandals" here), all year round, but to me they are naff, both in looks and for safety. Watch for that broken glass etc on the footpath. My car-tyre sandals both look a lot better, especially when I have Dubbined and black Nuggeted them, and I can crunch over that broken glass with alacrity!

On another note: I guess most of my skirts and dresses are pretty dark, but I am also a "Goth" at heart!

Personally I can't stand flip-flops for the following reasons:
1. There is the post between the big toe and the index toe
2. Any sandal I wear has to have a back strap to prevent the fwap-fwap of the sandal slapping against the foot.
3. I need a heel - flat shoes are as uncomfortable to my feet as 4 inch heels.

Fortunately there are plenty of alternatives to flip-flops.

I hate really tight footwear and in that respect I like flip flops during really hot weather like we are having at the moment. My feet spend so much time during the cooler months caged up in shoes and trainers. I like the type of canvas deck shoes with the white band around them also because they are loose and comfortable. I realise that flip flops have their place and wouldn't dream of wearing them for work at any time.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.
