Couyalair, please tell me where Andalucia is?? I looked up Andalucia in Wiki, found Andalusia in Spain, but couldn't find it with a "cia" in place of an Andalu"sia". :blue:

I know that "cyvcle" should be spelled (spelt?) cycle, so perhaps the area of southern Spain should be written with an "s". I must admit, I've never checked.

Couyalair is right with Andalucia. If one checks with Google, they spell it ANDALUCIA too. I would not try to correct another persons spelling or grammar. Text abbreviated lingo is awful, but most can get what the texter is on about. Never ever think to look at wiki.

I hate to admit it (must be getting old(er)), but when I see comments in feedback forum type things which are badly typed, no capitals, or all in capitals, poorly spelt or using my pet hate, which is txt spk, I look to see if they have an excuse, then let my blood boil as I ignore their message.

Classic examples are often in the feedback on "newspaper" sites like Dailymail.co.uk and also in places like Yahoo Answers. It astounds me the amount of illiterate dribbling feinds this country seems to have spawned recently!

It's different when the person is not a native speaker of this confusing language we live in, but ooh, the yoof of today, many need to go back to school, unless they are at school, iun which case they need to listen, or the school needs a good slap, or something.

LOL

(That really really really does get me going! what's wrong with the classic Elizabethan English phrase "Bwa Ha Ha Ha!" or equivalent, it was good enough for Shakespeare! it should be good enough now!)

Ah, nurse! my pills! about time too! Reality was starting to rear it's ugly head again!

It would have helped if we had all learned to touch-type as the north Americans do at an early age.
I was quite astounded at the top-speed typing ability of students when I was in N Carolina years ago. Although I tried to learn properly I never quite succeeded in keeping my eyes off the keyboard. Even today when everyone uses a computer, most Europeans (to my limited knowledge) use two fingers and two eyes, even when typing is part of their job. I use several fingers, but unfortunately they seem to get twisted around each other.

What is the connexion between typing errors and bare legs?

Both can be distracting.

There's precisely no connection. None. There's also no connection between the content of various threads here on SkirtCafe and regional disparities of spelling -- unless the results are either too confusing to penetrate or too hilarious to ignore.
Both can be distracting.
[Mod hat on]

This is not grammar school; hence attempted "lessons" in "proper" spelling and grammar are not particularly welcome. Such posts add much noise and little value to the threads in question. Unless there is an error that one cannot mentally correct to derive the intended meaning, niggling posts about spelling/grammar will be summarily deleted going forward.

[Mod hat off]

Blast it, that thing is scratchy -- and now I have "hat hair" to boot...

I was nearly always the one to get ours from primary school, not in a skirt, I must admit, in those days.
By the time the first grandchild came along however, I was always skirted and often went to meet her from school. While the weather was still good in september, I used to cyvcle there with a trailer behind for the girl. Showed plenty of leg then -- no complaints !

I can understand if you are a dad you can fetch your kids from school or go to a playground with your kids. I don't have any children so there is no reason for me to be close to a school or a playground.

I know Gregg doesn't particularly like me, but there was no way I was correcting anyone's spelling with Andalucia, I was simply asking a question for my personal information with complete respect and honor. Anyone looking at my question with an open mind would know that.

The day I decide to stop trying to learn, they may as well dig the hole and stick me in it. You naysayers can make whatever you feel like out of this statement. I don't care. :wall:

Skip,
No worries. It's probably an over the pond thing. I have forgotten about it, hope you will too. Life is too short for needless aggro.

I was going to correct a post misspelling that has gone unremarked even from Skip but I have restrained myself--now isn't that supercalifragilisticexpialidocious of me :bom:

There was to be a forthdoming football(soccer) match in Scotland between Celtic and Caledonian, and the cry went up from the Caledonian supporters: Super-Cali-go ballistic Celtic are atrocious !
