Recognize that I'm not picking on you with the following; it was just a stream of consciousness ramble that started after I read your post. It could apply to anyone, and everyone is invited to answer.

What does it mean when you say you don't like the color pink (or red)?
(1) Do you just not like it on yourself, or
(2) do you not like it any way, shape, or form?
For example, if you see a red rose, do you think, "What an ugly flower, it's red!"?
(3) Do you dislike seeing other men wear pink or red?
(4) Do you dislike seeing women in pink or red?

If the answers are yes to (1) and (3), does that mean that you've been conditioned by your upbringing and/or society to think of pink and red as "unmanly"?
If you answered yes to (2), and therefore presumably to the others, does that mean you have some genetic predisposition to dislike those colors (perhaps something to do with the way your visual system perceives color?), or is it still something to do with upbringing or early life experiences?

I'm obviously getting to the nature vs. nurture discussion.

Kris

BTW, I do have several shirts in various shades of pink, and styles, which I wear.

SO what's the matter with pink? It's just another color.

I've never had any problems with men who wear pink, but then I've never seen a man dressed in hot pink plaid trousers :D

And probably never in a hot pink plaid skirt!

Well sapphire, I'll wear anything... once! But you have to find them. And a Google search for "hot pink plaid trousers" doesn't yield much. They seem to be a rare style item.

But if you drop the plain requirement, it turns out you won't need my help on attaining this critical life experience. A search on Google for "hot pink trousers" reveals the following within the first page of the Image search results. Enjoy!

Now, this brings up a whole host of questions:

1. Is this guy posing with his own car?
2. If it IS his car, what's with the prominently displayed Mercedes keytag on his belt loop, and yet the (subcompatct) VW car in reality? Can I trust such a "climber?"
3. Is he planning on driving any time soon? If so, what's with the beer?
4. What does his choice of Beck (vs. a microbrew) say about him?
5. Why the shades? The picture looks cloudy --- or did it simply overexpose the sky?
6. Is this guy a general non-conformist, or is he trying to play up or portray non-conformity without embodying its essense?
7. What country is this anyway? Obviously somewhere in Europe, probably Western Europe. But where? The full tags aren't quite visible...

A yes, pink trousers bring up far more questions than can ever be answered. And for so many reasons, the trousers being the least of them, I'm not sure if I can trust this guy. But a good photo is always one that invites the viewer to look deeper and ask questions.

But Bob, those are "merely" hot pink; Sapphire said hot pink plaid!
Now if these were still in stock you could get a pair, take a picture, and make Sapphire's day! :D

Unbeknownst to me, I wound up walking around publicly like this. But, as evidenced by my expression in the pic, I don't really care.

Yes, I wear pink from time to time. I have a pink polo shirt, and it matches well with a black or grey skirt. To me, it's a colour which is simply one of several which suits my skin tone. I wear pink shirts to work quite a bit, and pink is a superb match with blue.

Thinking about pink before and after WWII, it dawned on me...

Red is the color of blood, pink is the color of flesh. As pink (and red too) changed from a masculine to a feminine color, could that be part of a larger social change in which blood as the carnage of war has faded in our minds, to be replaced by blood as a fundamental bodily fluid for reproduction?

I have yet to wear pink with a skirt...unless that includes the skirt itself. I confess that I do like wearing pink skirts, especially knowing it will raise an eyebrow even more!

I am now in a position were I need to look for other pieces of clothing to go with the skirts I own. The question is, do I go for a completely pink outfit?

As for the pose...I have no excuses!

I do not wear pink. I would have a hard time doing it as part of a costume, but it might be fun to do some time.

LOl, my favorite music artist showed up on stage with his usual spiked hair and make up, but the rest of his outfit, which is like the one I wore for Halloween...was shorter, black and pink. His makeup was PINK TOO. I have yet to see the pics. He did it as a special treat for his fan girls (though I am sure guys got a kick too). If the look is neat enough, I may just cosplay it. LOL.

SKirt's have nothing to do with wearing pink. It's a color choice I use based on the look I want to have & mood I am in. It can be a shirt, t-neckjunder a shirt or with pants or skirt.
