Recognize that I'm not picking on you with the following; it was just a stream of consciousness ramble that started after I read your post. It could apply to anyone, and everyone is invited to answer.Different_Trains wrote:No, but that's just because I don't like the colour pink. I don't tend to wear red either for the same reason.
What does it mean when you say you don't like the color pink (or red)?
(1) Do you just not like it on yourself, or
(2) do you not like it any way, shape, or form?
For example, if you see a red rose, do you think, "What an ugly flower, it's red!"?
(3) Do you dislike seeing other men wear pink or red?
(4) Do you dislike seeing women in pink or red?
If the answers are yes to (1) and (3), does that mean that you've been conditioned by your upbringing and/or society to think of pink and red as "unmanly"?
If you answered yes to (2), and therefore presumably to the others, does that mean you have some genetic predisposition to dislike those colors (perhaps something to do with the way your visual system perceives color?), or is it still something to do with upbringing or early life experiences?
I'm obviously getting to the nature vs. nurture discussion.

BTW, I do have several shirts in various shades of pink, and styles, which I wear.
