Out and About -- In the World at Large
Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large
Steve, are you sure she didn't say, "Where's the pipes?" in which case she could have been referring to the bagpipes. It's easy to miss the final s.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

Sinned,
You may have something there. If it wasn't for his look of pure aggression, it would be a logical, if misplaced attempt at humour.
"Donald far's yer troosers", is the most common on from the local "wits" around here. I've had that a few times. My comeback is "AH, the old ones are the best".
Steve.

Here's the red one: http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/downloa ... &mode=viewhoborob wrote:Looking at the Grey dress outfit I would have to say that it looks fun as is. The jacket maybe a bit of overkill but it does not detract from the look in my opinion. Since I do not see any links to or photos of the Red Dress outfit I cannot comment on that. So keep it up Darryl you're doing just fine.

[sigh] Got to work on a better place for photos......

Was out today in Cheddar, Street and Wells wearing black knee length boots, black tights, a black cord mini skirt and a burgundy(wish) colour top.

Darryl as far as the Red dress is concerned I personally don't get moved one way or the other. I suppose the real question is, "Do you like it?", and I suppose the answer is yes. So as long as you like it then it looks fine, just not really for me.

Well, it was my first dress...and at 50% on Clearance. I suppose that's mainly why I put sweaters or something on top....it's mostly 'proof of concept.' How a dress looks on me, how it feels, how it handles in the wind. I guess I'm not comfortable with bright red. Now as to the sweater dresses - I've worn my black one several times and will likely do the same with the (dark) burgundy one on order.hoborob wrote:Darryl as far as the Red dress is concerned I personally don't get moved one way or the other. Reckon I'll have to browse Pinterest and educate myself on dresses and possibly particularly on those with a collar as I seem to really like wearing a nice super-soft turtleneck t-shirt so that maybe 1/4" of white is showing above my collar and at the end of my sleeves.
Probably won't explore options any more this year. Unless.......

Hi Darryl,
You can find sweater dresses in almost any configuration you can find a sweater.
Look on line with Macy's, JC Penneys, Dress Barn, etc.

I am glad you are happy with your Red Dress Darryl. It looks fine on you, it just doesn't move me one way or the other. It's not a horrible look but its just not for me. As long as you enjoy it have fun with it and get out there. I have some sweater dresses myself and do enjoy wearing them but all mine are grey or grey with a pattern to them, it's just what I like.

I went to Aldi earlier so decided to put on my leggings and a short black skirt over them...
When I returned from the shopping I changed skirts and put a denim mini on and went for a walk to clear my head from last night

A good look for radio?
My choir are well used to seeing me in skirts, by which I mean they rarely see me in anything else, except for concerts. Men's skirts are not welcome at our concerts. We were on the radio a few days before Christmas, live from the BBC's studios. So of course I turned up in a skirt, what with it not being on display to the world. Well, if there wasn't some production assistant wandering about with his iPad, taking pics and videos to put up on the show's Facebook page. Oops! My outfit was now causing a little discomfort among the long-standing objectors to my style. So have a quick look and see if you can tell what I was wearing. If you haven't looked at my pics thread before, don't do it now; instead try to work out who I am, just from this link.

I admit to being forewarned of your visage so I was able to spot you fairly handily once I found a reasonably high resolution image. However, that does not answer the operative question in this instance, and it's not what you were wearing at the time -- it's Which voice is you?
If you received any guff for your attire it was quite out of line.

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large
Skirtyscot, I think I found you in your choir, but it wasn't that your skirt was showing, just that your ankles and lower legs were clearly in tights.
I'm surprised that your choir has a problem with you performing in a skirt; I do it all the time with mine, both on Sundays and in our 2 concerts each year. I expect the director and the other members might get concerned if I sang in a concert in pants!
Have you asked how your director and the other member would feel if you performed in a skirt? If not, I suggest you ask if it would be ok.

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large
Christmas travels again, skirted except for two more formal occasions. Skirts for me seem to be casual wear and work wear.
I had a rare chance to get a friend to snap me in public with my mobile phone.

Looks great! Now turn around!
