Cycling in a skirt - any advice?

General discussion of skirt and kilt-based fashion for men, and stuff that goes with skirts and kilts.

This is an interesting reversal of bifurcation. In 1916 the Van Buren sisters set out on motorcycles to cross the U.S. and were arrested in the Midwest for wearing pants (trousers).

The only skirt cycling I've done was a year or so ago when I used to cycle the 2 miles from where I played netball to home. Cycling in a netball skirt is not ideal, but VERY refreshing :)

Skirts with bike shorts. I have one of these, but never wear it. Pointless in my book. Designed for people who don't want to be seen in lycra shorts. The skirt is so short that you might as well be seen in lycra.
Personally, you can't beat bike shorts for distance riding. I've long stopped being self concious about being seen in lycra shorts :)
