Hi from Lincolnshire UK
Hi from Lincolnshire UK
Hi I'm Pete new to the skirtcafe, joined a couple of months ago, been wearing skirts for a few years full time at home only a few times out and about, my partner is fine with me wearing what I want around the house as long as we don't have visitor's , but as I tell her I am my own man she or nobody else owns me so I wear whatever I like wherever and whenever I like and if someone doesn't like it that's their problem not mine.

Welcome Pete. What did your partner say to that?

Hello Pete54 and
You have the right sort of attitude (bolshy) to wear skirts out and about! Best to bring your partner with you, rather than pissing her off, so as to smooth the path and have an easier time. Maybe start at home when you have visitors who won't mind, or on a country walk where nobody who your partner knows will bump into you.
Best of luck, and do let us know how it goes!

Keep on skirting,

Re: Hi from Lincolnshire UK
Welcome! How about denim skirts or kilts which might be more socially acceptable to wear amongst any visitors or friends?

Hi Pete54
I think most of us have started off wearing them at home only to start with, the fear of the unknown is a strange thing which in this case is what others reactions will be and that is often what some partners worry about too.
Personally I can recommend joining one of the BM meet ups as a good way to boost confidence, it certainly worked for me being with a group of like minded individuals.

Welcome Pete54 to the cafe. If you post a couple of m ore times, you username will turn blue and you will get access to the other sections of the site which contain more personal areas and pictures.
If you want a day out and reason to wear a favourite skirt, then there is a BarleyMower Meet up in London Piccadilly where you find a number of us skirted guys in a pub chatting. Partners are welcome and you can attend in trousers if you wish.
Daily, a happy man in a skirt...
Re: Hi from Lincolnshire UK
I do have a denim skirt also several kilts utility kilts and a couple of plan a line skirts that I wear 99.9% of the time at home, which the other half is perfectly ok with, it's just that she doesn't want me to wear them in front of visitors. To be quiet honest it doesn't matter to me one way or the other as it's not that often we have visitors unannounced anyway.
Thanks for the notification of a meeting up in London but unfortunately I can't make it, hope you all have a great time.
