Nice sound. What's the difference between a flute and a recorder; it looks more like the latter.

A recorder (called a "block flute" in German) has the breath directed against a sharp edge by a narrow channel in the mouthpiece, whereas a (transverse) flute has a free edge, and the player must direct the breath by angling the instrument.
From the way he's holding the instrument against his mouth, it looks like a block flute, but it's hard to tell without seeing the detail of the mouthpiece.
