Birkenstock Mary JaneA

Post by Mouse »

Anybody that follows my "Mouse at work and play..." thread, knows that last year I bought a pair of Birkenstock Reykjavik Mary Jane type shoes to use for my work. At the time the question was asked about modern day Birkenstock quality? Would they last?

Well with the recent hot weather here in the UK, the Birkenstocks found themselves on a building site in central London for many days.

So far they are standing up well to site work. I think the big black sole piece is good in protecting the leather bits from getting scuffed.

The recent discussion about Crocs, got me thinking that these are very like Crocs in style, but more suitable for going out.
They are not cheap, but for me, these are working shoes, that I wear to earn me money, similar to the power tools, that are also not cheap.

Birks are quality shoes. I've a few pair that I've had for years. While I am not a fan of Crocs (at all) I do like the look of those particular Birkenstocks.

Those Birkenstocks do look good Mouse. It seems a pity to get them messed up with, ‘building site crud.’ Do you think they do a steal toe—cap version? 😜

Imagine if Mary-Janes did a range of builders PPE…
