Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.

When asked 'Why the Kilt?'
I respond-The why is F.T.H.O.I. (For The H--- Of It)
I had to shovel through 20cm of wet stuff yesterday morning to get the car out. Then it went above freezing and we have gotten 20-30mm of rain so its down to 5cm on the ground again and its all going to freeze tonight when temps drop again.
Not alone with a dream, Just a want to be free, With a need to belong,

Freedom, Freedom, Freedom, Freedom
As long as I have power and don't have to drag out my generator I say, let it snow, .let it snow, let it snow. I guess there's a little boy inside this 72 year old geezer, me.
I'm ecstatic, my first winter without snow, but every once in a while, I get a tinge of guilt about the people I've left behind. I don't know why that is, though. Two of my daughters forsook the land of snow years ago and never looked back. I am aware that snow is possible in the higher elevations here on Madeira, but one can avoid it without a whole lot of effort. I've worn a skirt every day, no leggings or tights, just what I'd hoped for.

I'm back to he Snow and cold after 7 weeks in Georgia USA. Wore a kilt every day out and about. Temps were in degrees C ) 8 to 18. loved it no snow and sunshine but everyone there wished they could get some snow.
Oh ya temps are now -8 to -18 C but still kilting away. Haven't even dug out my knee high socks yet.
Mind you walks have been confined to from the house to the car from the car to the mall. don't have time to feel the cold.
Oh yes, Anthony, We're on the same planet allright. You just happen to be standing on the bottom half, where the sunshine is just now. Most of the rest of us inhabit the top bit, where there's precious little warm sunshine and negative temps for much of the time, which just now with us is ALL the time.
With treacherous icy conditions underfoot, old guys like me need to take little steps and watch where we tread. Only two days ago just outide our own front door I found myself on my bottom in the blink of an eye, nothing broken, T.G.
