I am often on site when the plasterers and painters are walking around on stilts in the houses I work in.
As Shadowfax says, the boots are made by Pleaser Shoes and are from my 7" heel collection. I have three pairs of these, all different colours. You can see me on jaunts in London with these:-

Now I don't know how it is in the UK. But here in Sweden, people just don't dish out comments or compliments. So my guess is that it would take a pretty good outfit to get someone to the point of giving a compliment and your heels are a very good place to start, its not just something you have put on but clearly something you have had to put the practice down to pull off well. In so its not just a compliment on your style, but also an ability of yours.
