Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.
So I went shopping in my local Cambridge Tesco this afternoon looking like this:----
I got complimented by three people while I shopped, two women in the shopping aisle and one guy at the self checkout next to mine. Now looking at the picture what would you put your money on as the subject of the compliments, all three people picking out the same thing?
I'ld hazard a guess that the object of their compliments
was the stilts you wore as shoes

My guess is the shoes. Not something that I would ever attempt to wear (I like my ankles unbroken). But I would like to send compliments on the skirt, blue is a good color on you.
I think it is both the shoes and the skirt as both are Compliment worthy.
I could not even try to wear those shoes. If I wanted to stay upright and not fall down and break several bones accompanied by lots of pain..

The hat or beard, even your nails?
Some people pick up on the least expected things, random details too.
As for the boots, is your accidental injury cover up to date?
Wow!

THE ANSWER..... is the boots....and the fact that I was walking around in them with no problem. Well done to those who agreed with Uncle Al.
But this got me to thinking, is the fact that I had a pretty skirt on, not even worth mentioning these days of "Nobody cares" what you wear. Only the fact that I was managing to walk around in the store, in 7" shiny black boots warranted a mention.
Do we see this as a sea change that skirt wearing is now normal and if a person, male or female wants to get noticed, they need a pair of substantial heels and the skill to walk round in them? What do the team think?
Those are an awesome pair of heels, where did you get them and how high are they? They look about 8”. I wear heels, they have to be 5-7” and I particularly like wearing platforms.
I think you are right, the boat has to be pushed out quite far now for anyone to comment. That’s a good thing. I’ve worn 6” stilettos with a skirt and nobody commented. That’s fine. I want to be able to go about my business without any hassle.
I suspect in your case, females would be admiring your ability to wear such high heels so easily.

Pleaser Shoes in California, USA but they ship to the UK.
They ship worldwide, I believe.
Mouse is wearing the Adore boots with 7" heels (2 3/4" platform).
Pleaser shoes also sell the Flamingo boots with 8" heels (4" platform).
They may make higher heels but I'll let you do your own research!
Mouse, if you lived in 'The States' wearing those shoes or boots, you
could be hired to do construction work with sheet rock on ceilings

Young lady construction worker walking in stilts. https://youtu.be/SjRupZ7zllU
At five minutes into the video, she demonstrates putting on the stilts and then walking around.
