2 in 5 men wear womens fashion

I personally don't believe it, even if it is good news in this survey.

Pre-pandemic article.
Did the world change since then and are men dressing in clothes they choose rather than chosen for them ?

Ya, don't know where they would have gotten those stats. unless the majority of them are wearing women's under garments I certainly don't see that on the streets. I live in a town of around twenty thousand. I am out around the area a lot and I have only meet two other men who wear what could be called recognizable women's attire. one wears floor length skirts the other wears jumper style dresses. Me of course, I wear skirts/kilts in the 18 to 20 inch length range.

Interesting. I wonder what percentage of men wearing women's fashion it would take for it to be called men's fashion.

I was thinking of saying that I never wear "women's" clothes but, on reflection, I have been doing lately. A few years ago, my wife bought herself three mini tee-shirt dresses from Marks and Spencer to wear over leggings. They were identical except for the colours. Then they shrunk a bit in the wash and I decided they would be good over-shirts for house painting... and I found they came in for gardening and even dog walking, tucked into my trousers. They are brilliant because they are too long to ride up. which is what usually happens. I have had several conversations with neighbours while wearing these and of course they would never have realised I was wearing a woman's dress.

even if they were counting undergaments, the numbers I've heard vary from around 1 in 20 to around 1 in 10, so even if you added them they'd still be hard pressed to get 3 out of 5.

Note that only 17% reported wearing such in public.

Yeah, what I see men wearing on the streets is conventional male drab.

And it includes 'accessories' so I presume a few of those 3 in 5 had jewelry, nail polish, heels, hair pieces, scarfs, or other innocuous items.

A number of us who dressed in private, sometimes wore interesting things under our drab male clothes. You never know what percentage of guys have a secret under their outer look. So the numbers may be closer to the truth than you first think.
Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

In retrospect it's a ridiculous situation where one half of the population can do as they please and the other half live in draconian conditions under the guise of "it's what they want".
If they don't want it they are sick.
I am surprised that our women folk didn't say "come on guys, lighten up! It's only clothes"

I've made a point this summer in going out more skirted, and asking the opinions of female friends (or friends of my wife). Without exception, they have shrugged and said 'I don't see why men shouldn't wear skirts', like it's a pointless question. Granted, there's obviously no suggestion of any future romantic association, and I wonder if their opinions would differ if it was /their/ man rather than a friend. But I think in general women are just so used to wearing a variety of different clothing that it doesn't seem such a big deal to them.

On the article... I read that with some of the same scepticism as above, and followed the link to glamour boutique. OK, so a seller that's trying to sell to crossdressers has survey results that suggests the majority of men are crossdressers. Hmmm

Polls can be misleading but all the same that poll is good news. However, I’m a bit disappointed they didn’t ask men in the 40 onwards age bracket.

Most of my clothes are from the women’s clothes department including leggings, tights, skirts, dresses, coats and jackets. In fact those items of women’s clothes fit me better than men’s clothes as they always have my size since I’m overweight. The only women’s clothing I don’t wear are shoes because it’s difficult in high street shops getting women’s shoes in the UK men’s size 11 and women’s underwear. The reason I wear women’s clothing is because I like the style and look of them and they are very comfortable to wear and great therapy for my anxiety. There can be a bit of a sexual kink when I’m wearing sheer tights/pantyhose.
My name is Arty. I’m a guy with a passion for wearing skirts, dresses and tights and a hobbiest musician and artist. 8)

Lies, damn lies and statistics spring to my mind on this.
Fact is that 2 in 5 men who responded to the survey wear women's "fashion" not clothes, and gee, that could mean as much as 40 men out of a hundred use female shampoo and ladies Tee shirts from Walmart.
Ok, not quite, but fact is we will never really know the numbers involved but the truth is out there somewhere.
