Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.

When asked 'Why the Kilt?'
I respond-The why is F.T.H.O.I. (For The H--- Of It)
No. My only limitation nowadays is arthritic limitation of wrist movement in both, ruling out press-ups for ever. Fortunately this doesn't affect my ability to handle an oar and I row several times per week, twice in a crew at weekends and three times on my Concept 2 rowing machine at home.
Keeps the tubes clean, for sure. Even at that age-level, the heart rate towards the end of the 1Km. sprint will reach well into the 180s.
This month I will be competing at the Euromasters Rowing in Munich (Germany) which adds excitement to the crew comeraderie in large measure. Sceptics would wonder at the travel, expense and preparation time for just a three-plus-minute dash over 1Km against others of similar age. My club have entered an average 70-year-old (H) eight, to which I contribute plus 11 years, being 81. This allows us put stronger younger hunks into the 'engine room' in the middle of the boat to give it some ziz and still make the age average.
Yes that fits me to a "T".
Due to a lower back injury when I was In my early 30's. I can no longer due much of any exercise not even walking very far. I have to use a cane to walk and remain upright now. I have to bear considerable pain even when sitting and I can not lift any thing heavier than a few pounds.
As I grew older the old injury just got worse and the doctors said I had to live with it.
So I do, And on days when it is bearable I try to get things done around the house.
No one here to help with the house work. Since my daughter and son-in-law had to move for his job I now once again live alone.
