Great skirts on the guys. Very 300. Not so sure about the product though. Don't take if you are ill.

Sorry guys but I don't know "very 300", not down with the kids I guess.
However, what those guys were wearing was a mock-up of gear worn by the Centurions in the Roman army.
The association is with some romantic fiction of some rough tough macho dude who will be expert in giving you pain in all sorts of interesting ways.
Skirt as in a garment for women it most definitely is not.

Would that be a reference to the Spartans who confronted the Persian army?

300 is a reference to the film 300 staring Gérard Butler. It's the most bizarre film. The film depicts King Leonidas of Sparta and a force of 300 men fight the Persians at Thermopylae in 480 B.C.

This costume, in the commercial, is of a Gladiator/Warrior from a movie.
Looks like he is attending a "Convention" of followers of a computer game,
specific movie or Sci-Fy group.

IMHO, Well Played :D

Even if I can't really figure out what he is doing in or for the commercial, he is a man in a skirt. The Roman Empire was created by men in skirts.

There ARE viable alternatives to trousers.

Hi Guys,
I really wish that I was an artist or at least a competent illustrator.
The image is approximately the type under debate here.
A perfectly conforming male of his time, rank and occupation.
In the here and now re-enactment gear, costume or fancy dress.
The theme is martial but on a modern battlefield, not really.

Now with a little imagination lets tweak it a little to suit the fluidity of our own time.
Lose the helmet and replace with a soft hat perhaps embellished with ribbon or a feather.
The cloak could remain but perhaps in a floral or paisley design in velvet brocade or heavy silk.
The body armour replaced by a vest to match or tone with the cloak.
The skirt base, a solid neutral colour while the leather thongs arranged in suitable tones to the cloak too.
Embellishments to suit the wearer.
The footwear could remain as is.
What I have just described is about as gender neutral as I can think.
In it's original form it is about as far from gender neutral as I could imagine.
"Skirts", just not as we know them!
Steve.
