Big Tech Nanny Filter?

Post by Uncle Al »

Has anyone else had problems previewing, and/or, posting a PM or topic :?:

I was composing a PM and when I tried to preview it, to see if I had spelling or
punctuation errors, or the PM made sense, I received an "Internal Server Error"
message. This has happened a couple of times in the past. I've discussed this
with Carl and he stated that he's had similar problems.

I had to cut 75% of my PM, just to preview it before sending.
I don't know what words caused the "Error" message but the whole thing smells
of Big Tech censorship that is beyond our Admin control.

If this happens to any member, please make a note of it and send me a message.
You can PM me for my direct email. Email doesn't have a 'Nanny Filter'.
(I know this from all the "Junk" email I get :-| )
I will forward any info directly to Carl, via email.

Somehow, we must find a way to stop this censorship of our written words.

Thanks :!:

This is a known issue, and since it's something sitting atop the SkirtCafe layer I have no access to it. I've verified that no problems exist with the phpBB code as I can post things in my lab environment (which is identical to the setup of the Production forum) and cannot reproduce it; therefore I believe it's something "security" related on top of SkirtCafe. It's also something I have no control over, nor have I been able to pinpoint certain verbiage that sets the thing off as I've tried posting various suspected snippets in a non-visible forum and those have gone through even though the entire post wouldn't.

This is especially frustrating if I'm trying to describe technical aspects of things. (I'm actually somewhat surprised that this didn't cause a 500-series error.)

I had a problem yesterday trying to preview a post and before I could post it I had to delete all history and cookies. Then restart the cafe before I could post it. Yes it seems big brother is trying to take away our right to free speech. Carl get hold of the people who control the place where SC is hosted to find out what they know and to see if they will talk about it.
