I saw myself in the reflection of store windows for a week Old San Juan Puerto Rico between December 22 and 28, 2019. Crocs, utility kilt, and t-shirts is all I wore. You can't beat a light-weight utility kilt in the tropics - call it air conditioning! Everyone referred to me as the "Scott", little did they know I'm a native New Yorker..........

On monday night, I went to Antonios pizza in Amherst. Young college kid from Amherst College was wearing a green tartan kilt. I made a comment,"nice kilt". We chatted for a 10 minutes or so. I told him where i lived and where i was working. He commented," this pizza place is sorta out of your way". I said I went to umass 30 years ago, and every chance i get, i stop by this place for a few slices. I told him, when he graduates, moves away, he will miss Antonios pizza too. If youve ever been there, youd understand.

I've had several outings in the past couple of weeks in my new charcoal denim Indie kilt from Union Kilts: £12.50 in the closing down sale. On a reasonably warm day (6-8°C) I wear knee length kilt socks but a couple of times I've resorted to 200 denier thermal tights, brr! The proprietor of Thmoson's cafe in Tranent asked me why I was wearing a kilt, so I told her it was for comfort and freedom.

Sadly the 34" Hill Walker kilt barely met round my middle and couldn't cope with my ample hips!

Today on my iPhone news I saw that the NY Yankees' great, A-Rod, a man's man if for no other reason than being the husband of Jennifer Lopez, posted a short mirror video of first his gorgeous wife dancing to a recent hit in a white, skintight sweater dress, while the retired ballplayer held the smartphone doing the filming while wearing a blue blazer, white dress shirt and tan slacks. About halfway through the song J-Lo was in the blazer, white shirt and tan slacks and A-Rod was rocking out in a matching sweater dress!

Not only was he rocking out to the tune, he was rocking the dress!

I'd say if he can show the world what he looks like in a dress, the rest of us can show our friends and neighbors how a dress suits us!

With this kind of things I try to find some justification or a hidden meaning. It did not came to me. Neither did the ice bucket craze of some time ago.

The Flip the Switch thing looks like just plain, good old fashioned fun!

The Ice Bucket Challenge was, or at least turned into a fund-raiser for a foundation trying to combat some serious disease. (Sorry, I forgot which one.)

If you must ask why, goofiness is a worthy cause in and of itself!

Another item I saw in my newsfeed the other day E.J. Johnson, Magic Johnson's son usually wears miniskirts and blouses.

In the picture the article had of him he looked darned good.

On the other hand, his physique rivals his Dad's so who would dare think other than he looks great!

I was at a gin festival with the Mrs on Saturday. I was in trews, for a change, and without her having to suggest it; it keeps her sweet. And there we saw a man in a plain kilt, which is a pretty unusual sight, even here in Scotland. He was also sporting thick socks deliberately only half pulled up, and hiking boots, which seem to have become normal with casual kilts. A fine outfit, but I doubt it earned many double takes, unlike the red cord mini I wore to the same event last year.

Sightings in the wild ....I have been living in Cornwall for nearly
eight years. Just before this C19 was the first time in
eight years that I have seen a man wearing a tartan garment
out on the street.He was in front of me in the queue in
my favourite bookshop in Penzance .I recognised the Black Watch
Tartan and he confirmed that the garment was a Gold of Glasgow
Kilt.I have mentioned somewhere recently that these garments
were sold by the German Chain Store Lidl all over U.K.
Machine made P.V. manufactured in Pakistan
Burns Night promotion in a chain store .First marketed at £50
Second year reduced to £25 ...Medium weight with plenty
of yardage.On the second year of issue I went to 3 Lidl Stores
In Cornwall and bought five Black Watch and one Granite
( a grey tartan ) for £25 each...The thing to remember is
that I always carry a tape measure as these Waist Sizes are
2 inches out from the Label size...Where can one buy a new
male garment for £25..
The Edge of the World bookshop can only be described as the place where the Swinging Sixties Hippy Book Worms still meet each other.
We had a good yarn, Then he went off on his male bike.

Sightings in the Wild part 2
I was at Art College in Plymouth in the Swinging Sixties...
only half a mile from the ferry over to Cornwall.
I was into mini vans and Cornish suba diving.
The roads are a bit different now .It was pure chance that
now....It was pure chance that I was not wearing one of my
seven Black Watch Kilts at that chance meeting...
I was wearing something else for a long days driving.
Going back to the book shop and my Cult Heroes.....

Last year one of the local Authors just happened to be in the
Shop for a Book Sighning ...He had just come over from
Scilly for a hospital check up...Yes ,we all go to
West Cornwall hospital in Penzance
Get back to my previous sighting of this famous Ship Wreck Author.
Dick Larn....used to be with the Navy Diving Club at the local
Air Base.
We were at a Historic Diving Association meeting in Weymouth.
Dick turned to my boss and said
" Yes Ted , I remember meeting Buster Crabb "
I am getting well off topic but I have found Three References
to Buster Crabb in re reading my Library....
Buster Crabb went missing in 1951 under a Russian Warship
in Portsmouth Harbour.
The story goes "Buster Crabb Lives "
