New Etsy shop with unisex skirts
I found this on Etsy. The designer markets her skater skirts as unisex. I ordered the blood moon one and will endeavor to advise the forum of my review.

Maybe perhaps they don't want to scare off any potential sales.oldsalt1 wrote:Question if they are unisex why no male models
Hairy skirts are not Us !
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Maybe you’re stereotypically assuming none of those waist-down models is a man?oldsalt1 wrote:Question if they are unisex why no male models

Perhaps the marketers of these fine skirts, do not wish to frighten the lassies off...............L.O.L.dillon wrote:Maybe you’re stereotypically assuming none of those waist-down models is a man?oldsalt1 wrote:Question if they are unisex why no male models

Being serious......I rather like the skirts with no legs on show.......There is only one skirt described as unisex
I like the skater skirts ;......but prefer the Gypsy Patchwork skirts...............weeladdie

For models read model singular and that may very well be the owner too.
The expense of paying a male model may have been too much.
I still find it odd that the one style only is described as unisex though.

Following the links, one comes to adult unisex wear. I checked part out and saw t-shirts, sock, sweaters, trousers and after 8 "pages" thereof I decided I could spend my time better.

I’ve bought from an Etsy shop before, and though I felt I overpaid for the short ruched mini-skirt I bought, I do like it.

I liked the look of 2 of the unisex skirts, but couldn't see any sizing guide, I would like to know the waistband size of the 2XL.

It says, "Handmade item made to order," and if you have any question, contact the seller. Just an inquiry from a male would encourage the seller. Re: New Etsy shop with unisex skirts
Some garments appear to be unisex,..made to measure ,...male work garments.... or described as cheap kilts.......
my advice is tread with caution....

Re: New Etsy shop with unisex skirts
Perhaps the owner originally designed skirts for women only...and still sells them? And is trying a new unisex design as an experiment,..to see if there is any interest?STEVIE wrote: I still find it odd that the one style only is described as unisex though.

Hi Grok,
I still work on the basis that all but a very few garments are "unisex".
I would agree that in terms of sales and marketing, you are very likely correct.
Add a label and see what happens.
That could be highly cost effective with minimal risk to the core business too.
The made to order aspect will only be based on two variables, waist and length measurements.
That's even less risk as no redundant stock in hand either.
It's not a bad strategy as long as supply and demand remain reasonably stable.
