A variation on the fly????? Granted it would be difficult to lift a pencil skirt.

I don't get it. Is this flap thing supposed to be decoration, or what?

Yeah, like the superfluous studs on Utilikilts, I figure.

Stretch fabric makes pencil skirts possible to lift.

That looks to me like the broadfall trousers worn by Amish men.
They don't use zippers, so they have this arrangement of buttons.

reminds me of soft porn films in the 70's, "Jodlen in der Alpen"=> yodel in the Alps. But you will encounter the same closing on the Lederhosen (leather shorts), mostly worn during the Oktoberfest in Munich (https://www.oktoberfest.de/en/shop/trac ... ederhosen/ ). But than the Amish have their roots in Germany.

Makes more sense on pants where you can't just lift the hem.

That's pretty bizarre, as if some fashion designer went psycho trying to be different . But maybe when you have it on it doesn't look so much like a t-shirt tucked into tightie-wighties.
Courage, conviction, nerve, verve, dash, panache, guts, nuts, balls, gall, élan, stones, whatever. Get some and get skirted.

If the front -shaped piece was in a different colour it wouldlook as if you had your underwear on on the outside. Looks interesting and I would like to see it actually worn to see what the effect really is. :?:

Cheap enough but ............... damn, it would be as bad as putting on pants with the foot going in the wrong hole.

Noooooooo! The bottom piece looks like an afterthought and didn't sew it on properly. Can't actually see anybody buying it.
