I was asked if I was Scottish
I just got back from an emergency late night run to Home Depot. I decided to wear my new Lularoe skirt and same old Black Label Socieypty tee. I got to the cashier and she politely asked if I was Scottish. Zillow was like, no, I'm just weird. And I like to be comfortable too.
Also recently some girls I know and my sister wanted to see me in skirts. I showed them pictures and they said they liked!

Re: I was asked if I was Scottish
"Weird" is a bit derogatory, don't you think? A better phrase to use is "ahead of fashion". " Visionary" is good too, if a little on the bigheaded side.
Keep on skirting,

Re: I was asked if I was Scottish
When someone asks me the same question I sometimes say, "No, just nuts," and it usually goes over fairly well.
Courage, conviction, nerve, verve, dash, panache, guts, nuts, balls, gall, élan, stones, whatever. Get some and get skirted.

Re: I was asked if I was Scottish
My reply is usually:
"Ya don't havtabe Scottish to wear the kilt you can be Irish too"
Uttered with the gaelic accent of one recently immigrating from the ole country !

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

I may have said I like to feel wind also
Re: I was asked if I was Scottish
I've been asked several times "Do you play the bagpipes?"
I sometimes wear a tee shirt that says "No I don't play the bloody pipes. My ancestors just killed people."

Re: I was asked if I was Scottish
I've been asked that once before. I told the lady NO. At the time I was wearing my ElKommando kilt. She commented "That's a pretty forward fashion sense". I said "Well mebbe, but is SURE is a lot more cool in this than pants or shorts". This happened in Florida in June. A bit warm outside!!

Re: I was asked if I was Scottish
I was once asked if I was Scottish by a woman in a cafe. When I replied no, she asked why was I wearing a kilt then? As she was wearing trousers, I suppose I could have asked if she was a man. and if not why was she wearing trousers?

Thing is a gray and black A line skirt doesn't look like a kilt. But I guess she may have wanted to make a comment and it was all she could think of

Probably.
And a little self deprecation can be charming.
Ya done good.

Re: I was asked if I was Scottish
I was out in a straight, black, knee-length skirt once. A man looked at me as I walked toward the exit where he was standing. He asked me, "Are you German?" Eventually, I figured out he thought my business skirt was a kilt and that it was the Germans who wear them. Anyhow, +1 to him for looking me in the eye and talking to a man in a skirt!

Re: I was asked if I was Scottish
First off, good story. What I really like about it is that I'm of Scottish decent, so I find it funny. I guess I could actually use that as an excuse.
However, I do wonder something. What prompted an "emergency late night run to Home Depot"?
