I will post more pics of Spain after I figure out how to reduce the file size. I reset my camera apparently and the pixel size is too big to upload.

Nice pictures, Dillon, but I think, "My wife slugged me for forgetting to pack pants!" would have made a better excuse for the scrape on your face.

Would have liked meeting you on the Costa del Sol, Darryl, but our commitment to be in Grenoble was of long standing.
I would have preferred being in the sun rather than in cold wet France too, but we had a good time with old friends here, so it has not been too bad.

I was surprised that I had more reaction to my skirts, in terms of stares and outright gawking, in Spain than I have ever observed in the US. I was expecting to be unnoticed. I never encountered another skirted man. However my skirts didn't stop the hookers on Calle de la Montera, in Madrid, from soliciting me. Nice looking women, actually, some of them...if I had been single, I might have been tempted.

I remember being kilted in Spain years ago. I was in a universtiy choir and we had been encouraged to show off our Scottishness on tour by wearing the kilt. On a stroll around the centre of Pamplona the general response to my pale-skinned, redheaded kilted appearance was one of slack-jawed astonishment. The bright red university gown, which we wore for concerts but I had not not taken off, no doubted helped to make me stand out. As if any help more were needed!
Keep on skirting,

Alastair

Below is a new skirt from Old Navy which I wore on an outing yesterday. It's a 20 inch pencil skirt in classic denim with a walking vent (slit) in back. It both looks nice and was very easy and comfortable to wear. In fact, I liked the skirt so much, I went back to Old Navy and bought another one of this style which also comes in white. But, don't worry, I'll follow proper fashion protocols and wait until Memorial Day to wear it.

It was a nice day at the beach. I wore my prAna cotton skirt, sort of a plum color, over my Tyr mid-length swimsuit, shedding the skirt once we found a suitable spot to spread a blanket and unfold some chairs. It was nice to be back on the gorgeous NC beaches. I saw a couple Mediterranean beaches in Spain, and found them underwhelming, at least as far as the quality of the sand and surf; also, the Spanish beaches were quite brief, not running for miles and miles as ours do. The sands there were rather brownish, and seemed more like the soils we farm down here than the crystalline sugar-white sands of our coast. Fort Macon State Park was full of people today and one would have had to hike a distance to escape all the people, so we just plopped in among them all. I had a few quickly averted glances, more, I suspect, because of the brightness of my shade of polish on my toenails, which seemed a mild red indoors, but a bright fuchsia out in the sun

Ah Dillon, forget your miles & miles of uninterrupted sugar-white beaches, Try this one!

Yep, the number of "Speedo" swimsuits would suggest that location. Probably just where I belong! Though I am not sure what they are all lying on; that beach looks like a pile of gravel!

Got two comments walking in Hollywood, California, a while ago, wearing a plain brown just-below-the-knee skirt. An unenlightened local fellow, who worked in a tourist souvenir shop but was standing outside, said "Nice skirt. Hey, he's wearing' a skirt!!" I gave him the thumbs-up sign, smiled, and kept going. Later, a woman passing by said "Now, that's a smart look!". So out of several hundred people I passed that day or stood near on buses or subway, two commented.
When I heard about skirting, I jumped in with both feet!

Looking at that beach picture, I couldn't help but wonder,

"Where's Waldo?"

That is one crowded beach!

This is what I wore out and about today. I started with a garden job and then walked my dog through town to the groomers and back home. Then walked back to pick up the dog but had a 1 hour wait while they finished him so I did a little window shopping. Later on my son and I took the dog for a walk along the beach.

The skirt is so comfortable I would like to wear it or similar every day.

I have a painful stiff neck so I turned you 90 degrees to the right, if you don't mind! :)

Save for the colour, that looks remarkably close to the bespoke one of mine from The Mouse Works.

I find skirts a large improvement over trousers when it comes to comfort.
