Rain Kilt?

Post by wsherman »

Hi All!

On another thread I heard mentioned the "Rain Kilt" and was intrigued. I went to Amazon and found the item but the description did not give me a clear enough picture for me to make a discision. So can anyone take a look and tell me about what a Rain Kilt is like. Could this be used as a stand alone garment or is it specifily made to wear in combination with trousers, kilt, and skirts?

I am just having trouble visualizing it.

Thank-you for your help!

Another time the term kilt is used to convince the fearfull to put on a skirt. No honey, it is not a skirt, it is a kilt and it protects my ass from pesky rain drops. :alien: It is hard enough to convince the average woman of a scottish tartan kilt without giggles and odd looks. I don't wanna convince anyone, just be cool in a skirt. :D

Thank-you Peter that link was a tremendous help. The proverb says that a picture is worth a thousand words but when you can't see the silence is deafening!

I just read that out in California there is a company that is producing 3D models of unborn babies using sonograms so the vision impaired can follow the development of the child. As Mr. Spock would say with raised eyebrow "Facinating!" .

Thanks again!

My black rain kilt arrived while I was away last week, it is exactly what I wanted. A waterproof skirt, elastic waist, something like 34 or 36 inches long. fits me perfectly and does a pretty reasonable job of covering my long denim cargo skirt. I think it should cover a macabi completely, it is short enough to stay out from under feet but long enough to cover most of what you want to keep dry. Exactly what I wanted and I think it will work well when sailing.
