Last Wednesday I made a trip Fargo to have my prostetic eyes cleaned which needs to be done every so often. I rode the medical transit bus which makes a run to Fargo once a week on Wednesday.
I wore for the trip an off white flannel shirt with a pullover light brown sweater , my McNeil of Bara tartan kilt with a Rob Roy sporran. My kilt hose were an off white pair hand-knitted by my wife with garter ties (also hand knitted )d in marigold. the shoes were brown oxfords.
The only question from anyone on the bus was from the driver who jokingly asked if I was "regimental" adding "did I know what that was?". I replied yes I knew and no I wasn't and then gave him the "nothing is worn all is in good working order!" This occured after the driver had picked me up from my appointment and we were going for a bite to eat while we waited for everyone else to finnish with their various appointments.
While I was at the occularist the only comments made were by him and his wife about how sharp the kilt looked.
There was a gentleman who acted as a sighted guide to the cafiteria who was told by a lady co-worker that he should get an outfit like that for himself refering to my kilt.
All in all it was a good trip and people were plesant it's too bad the weather wasn't.
The next time I go I'll try a contempory kilt like the UT "Wild Hiking kilt"!
