Bob was unique :!: Loved music and performing.
I remember that he complained about "Ties" and
disliked wearing them. His solution - make a
skirt out of ties. Quite colorful, it was :)

He's the one that gave me the idea of the tie skirt - I too detest ties and won't wear them, except as part of a skirt, of course. He was a cool guy.

RIP Bob. You are missed.
I bought one of my first sarongs through him a dozen years or so ago.
I did download this picture of him in his tie skirt back around 2003.

Nuts. Bob is one of the 8 guys pictured on the original Tom's Cafe coffee mug from 1997 along with Jan Bruyndoncks, Bill Guerts, David Wichmann, Fred Tamm-Daniels, Chris Grevstad, Stuart Foster, and yours truly. We even shared the same birthday. I had lost touch with Bob a couple of years ago. Sorry to find out that he is gone. I don't know what it is with some people. They just keep on getting older and older till they depart. Strange.

I've not heard of this before. I'm guessing this was a virtual mug used in the Café? Any chance of sharing it with us newcomers?

Have fun,

Ian.

Sure. But it is not a virtual mug. It is the real thing.

Wow! Thanks for that; what a great idea for a way to spread the word at work.

How were these arranged? There is a part of me wondering whether we could do something similar for the current Skirt Café members via one of the print / manufacture on demand outlets. I have to say that I like the idea of a mug I can leave in the office that quietly spreads the word...

Have fun,

Ian.

Lots of places do that sort of thing.

Here is one that can do up to 14 pictures per mug:

I'd heard that such an artifact existed but had never seen one. That's great. Who are the folks on it? The shots suffer from flash-wash so the print isn't very legible.

Just a guess Carl, but, based on BobM's post above, I suspect the answer is:
BobM wrote:Bob [Pettingell], Jan Bruyndoncks, Bill Guerts, David Wichmann, Fred Tamm-Daniels, Chris Grevstad, Stuart Foster, and yours truly [BobM].
:D

Have fun,

Ian.
